Iraqi Police Attacked, U.S. Forces Hit Back (insurgents back, not broken)
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Guerrillas attacked Iraqi and U.S. forces in Baghdad in daylight Saturday, hours after a top U.S. general conceded it was too early to say if a big Falluja offensive had broken the backbone of the insurgency.

~snip~

An all-out offensive by more than 10,000 U.S. troops on the Sunni stronghold of Falluja, just west of Baghdad, over the past two weeks has killed, by U.S. estimates, about 1,200 fighters.

Intended to quell a Sunni insurgency before an election due in late January, it has been accompanied by scattered violence throughout the Sunni heartlands north and west of the capital.

A senior U.S. general, backtracking somewhat on confidence expressed by other officers, acknowledged it was "too early to say... that the backbone of the insurgency is broken."

4. The only 'surprise' is that people are still surprised at the
level of obfuscation that is endemic throughout this administration.

5. Watching Fox reporter Live in Baghdad, yesterday
A couple of things came out:

1) The background was very dark. Downtown Baghdad?

2) His back was to the camera. That's got to be
the ultimate TV nono. Says 25 mm gunfire 1/2 mile away
probably a Bradley.

3) The NY host tries to get him to talk about
something having to do w', Fallujah, and the
Reporter cuts her off and says he needs to find shelter.

Now correct me, but it looks like a)a normal reporter,
craves airtime like oxygen and b) wouldn't a
normal reporter have wanted to pursue why
and how that gunfire was happenin'?

6. Abu Hanifa mosque could be match lighting the gas
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 11:22 AM by jmcgowanjm

The Iraqi Resistance dealt devastating blows in Baghdad to
the US and puppet "Iraqi" forces after the cold-blooded killing
of worshippers at Friday prayers by US nazi troops and
their Shiite and Kurdish criminal
collaborators.
Dead US soldiers and burned-out Bradleys and other
vehicles were the results of the swift justice dealt out by
the resistance.-IRR

Eyewitness to US Forces Raiding a Mosque

by Dahr Jamail

She said someone asked the soldiers if they would be
made hostages. A soldier used foul language and
asked everyone to shut up, she said. Suddenly, she
laughed amid her tears. "The Americans have learnt how to
say shut up in Arabic, 'Inchev.'"

Soldiers denied Iraqi Red Crescent ambulances and
medical teams access to the mosque. As doctors
negotiated with U.S. soldiers outside, more gunfire was
heard from inside.

7. More
Resistance units called to the scene of the mosque
massacre by Iraqi patriots furiously attacked the US and
puppet forces who had stationed Bradleys outside the
mosque in defensive positions:

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent wrote that the
Resistance fighters fired RPG7 and SPG9 rockets and
BKC automatic weapons in the fighting. In the end, the
fighting left two US military Bradley armored vehicles, a
Humvee, a Nissan patrol car belonging to the puppet police,
and a Nissan pickup belonging to the puppet "national
guard" troops destroyed. Eleven American troops, three
puppet policemen and six puppet "national guards" were
killed in the battle. In addition, three US troops were
seriously injured by Resistance gunfire.

The US and stooge forces responded to the Resistance
fighters by firing indiscriminately around the area, killing 14
Iraqi civilians.

The fightiing in Baghdad that erupted with the Abu Hanifa mosque massacre in al-Aadhamiya
continued today (Saturday) and spread to many other neighborhoods. This report
by Al Jazeerah confirms the accuracy of the Iraqi Resistance report and exposes
once again the US nazis' concealment of their own losses:

An Iraqi journalist in the area, Ziad Badruldin, told Aljazeera
that he saw the al-Aadhamiya police station up in
flames.
Badruldin, however, also said there are reports that the
three were killed when their car was set ablaze near
the al-Aadhamiya bridge.
Clashes, the reporter said, had also occurred in Antar
Square. Other confrontations occurred in al-Gazaliya, al-
Amariya and Haifa Street.

Badruldin said he saw destroyed US vehicles near the
Abu Hanifa mosque. Aljazeera aired video of a US
armoured vehicle, believed to be a Hummer, destroyed by
armed fighters in the clashes. Its occupants are believed to
have been killed, but there has been no comment from
US military authorities on the incident.

8. The backbone of Resistance-IRR-111904
On Thursday the Iraqi Resistance broke through into
the northern half of al-Fallujah, where the American invaders
are in a stronger position, and got into the al-
Muhandisin neighborhood.  The they pulled back to the
southern part of the city, controlled by the Resistance in
what appears to have been a Resistance attack and
retreat operation.

US troops have not been able to advance into the southern
half of the city for three days.  The Resistance, however,
opened fighting yesterday in he al-‘Askari neighborhood in
the east of the city after several days during which virtually
no Resistance activity took place in that part of
town.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent noted that US forces
in their attacks on the ash-Shuhada’ and al-
Jubayl neighborhoods on Thursday used a new type of
gas, different from those used before.  The new gas
overcomes the victim and causes asphyxiation.  Twenty
bodies of victims of the gas were found in the
two neighborhoods in the last four
days.

It appears that the Resistance fighters had come to cope
with the dessicating gas used by the US forces, as
Resistance fighters could be seen carrying
around water-dampened cloths

Iraqi Resistance forces for the fourth straight day have been
able to cut the US supply lines feeding American
troops besieging al-Fallujah.  The Mafkarat al-
Islam correspondent in the area reported that Resistance
forces had cut the three main roads leading to al-Fallujah,
in particular the road leading from Abu Ghurayb to al-Fallujah,
in addition to two other routes running to the north and
south

9. The new gas . We are now using gas weapons?

Wasn't chemical weapons a part of the WMD bullshit? And it's not saddams forces using it, it's OUR FORCES using fatal gass weapons?

But we hear not one word about it from our MSM? The LIBERAL MSM?

But the rest of the world certainly knows. Lil Boots is sure to get a warm welcome from the international court when this is over. Just think, the first murkan president to be branded a war criminal and imprisoned for the rest of his failure riddled life. Oh, what a happy thought!

10. update: no plan in place for election security, Iraq Def Minister
~snip~
Iraqi Defense Minister Hazim al-Shalaan said insurgents had moved from Fallujah and Babil province, south of Baghdad, to the capital. But, he told U.S.-funded al Hurra television: "We have a comprehensive plan similar to the Fallujah operation ... There is great operation planned in Babil."

The government says it will quell the Sunni insurgency before an election in January.

But asked about his ministry's plans for election security, Shalaan said: "We do not have any plan yet, but when we approach the election stages we will have a plan."

Latest IRR 112004:

Here is the latest report from Falluja II:

After many waves of attack and counter attack, the
Iraqi Resistance Fighters have regained 55-60% of
Falluja, mainly the southern part of the
city...

For today, US forces have slowed the thrust of their
attacks against the defences of the Resistance...The
Iraqi Resistance are making every shot count,
countering previous thrusts with mortar and C5K
fire...

Two major engagements have taken place in Sinaiya
District and Askari District, both of which resulted in
the withdrawal of US forces.

Report indicates much of the US heavy weapons have not
been moved today to engage in fighting, while 250
heavy weapons have been pulled away from Falluja,
possibly towards Mosel.

The Resistance sees this as a prommising sign that the
assult on Fallujah has weakened the resolve of the US
forces and that with further time their entire assult may
collapse.
