Calls mount for Blair to quit over Iraq
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N2W105689.htm

LONDON, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Pressure mounted on Sunday for British Prime Minister Tony Blair to quit over his part in the suicide of a weapons expert at the heart of a furious row over the government's case for going to war in Iraq.

A poll in the Mail on Sunday newspaper showed 43 percent of people believed Blair should resign over the affair, 42 percent believed he should stay in office and 15 percent were undecided.

The figures in the YouGov poll, taken the day after the judicial inquiry into the death of David Kelly adjourned for 10 days to allow Judge Lord Hutton to decided which witnesses to recall for cross examination, were the first to show that more voters are against Blair than for him.

The poll will come as a further blow for the once invincible leader of a Labour government with an unassailable parliamentary majority who has seen his personal trust ratings slump since the war to oust Saddam Hussein and who is facing a crescendo of criticism over his policies on education, health and crime.

2. Bush Needs Blair
Blair is the face of legitimacy for Shrub in the world. Without his little poodle, Shrub has lost his very last fig leaf. Now that we know that Blair was using "sexed up" reports, and has been propping up the commander in thief all this time, I say good riddance.

Labor was in a world of hurt until Blair decided to copy Clinton, going so far as to even use Clinton's political advisors when running his campaign. The fact that he has supported Shrub's illegal, unethical war in the face of the U.N. means that he has outlived his usefulness to us, the brittish people, and the world.

It is time for Blair to step down, and have somebody from Labor who is not going to be a lapdog of the neo-cons. Byebye Tony.

3. The harder Blare falls
The better the chance we have to dethrown the GOP from American politics. However, if Blare walks away from this, than the GOP will remain above the law, and be able to contiue their Pax American and globel conquest.

Blare has to be led away in chains.

4. Gee, I'm confused.
Wasn't there a poll conducted recently...where 60-70% of the British respondents said that they did not trust Blair? If so, why would only 43% now say that he should resign? Why wouldn't the number be closer to 2/3 or 3/4 of the British electorate wanting the ouster of Blair? Unless, of course, the 15% of "undecideds" in this poll-had all voted previously "not trusting" Blair. Then, it would make sense to me.

If you can't trust the man, why on earth would you even want him as Prime Minister? Of course, the same holds true for George W. Bush as "pResident".

:dunce:

5. Been questioning the same
I guess the answer has something to with the fact that most people dislike Torys and IDS even more than Blair.

6. IMHO Labor Party wins if Blair falls on the sword.
and they pick somebody that the people like and trust.

BUT if Blair allows more facts to come out and is forced out, Labor looks to have been covering up for him.
