Missouri Congressman Taken to Hospital (Rep. Ike Skelton- D)
Edited on Sun Nov-21-04 12:54 AM by khephra
WASHINGTON -- Missouri Rep. Ike Skelton, senior Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee, fell in the hallway of House office building Saturday and was taken to U.S. Naval Medical Center in suburban Bethesda, Md.

Skelton, 72, was returning to his office after a vote on the House floor when he fell near a bank of elevators in the Rayburn office building and struck his head.

"He's doing just fine," said Lara Battles, a spokeswoman for Skelton who was with him when he fell. She said she did not know what caused the fall but that Skelton was conscious.

And he sits on the House Armed Services Committee, which means lots of lobbyist lobsters. Do the, er, math. :-)

4. To fuel the fire:
This link is to a Yahoo News article. The Armed Services committee opposed the bill, BTW.

10. What is his relation to Red Skelton?
Being from Texas, I don't see him very much unless he's on C-Span and I happen to catch it. But when I have, there's a definite physical resemblance to Red Skelton who was always my abolute favorite comedian, hands down. I tried to find on both Ike's and Red's websites a relationship, but never could find it. Do any of you know?
I am sorry about his fall. I sincerely hope that it was just a stumble and not some fainting spell or something from an underlying problem. Lord knows we need to keep the good ones!!! They're become all too scarce now!
