Child Malnutrition in Iraq nearly double what it was before invasion
The new figure translates to roughly 400,000 Iraqi children suffering from "wasting," a condition characterized by chronic diarrhea and dangerous deficiencies of protein.

"These figures clearly indicate the downward trend," said Alexander Malyavin, a child health specialist with the UNICEF mission to Iraq.

2. White House Says Obesity No Longer Major Threat To Children in Iraq
The irony of that silly headline is that I believe that was the main cause of death and illness in Iraqi children before we came along.

4. Actually it was the sanctions
But your headline spin is HILARIOUS!! I'm expecting to see it in the MSM sometime soon.

The situation, however, is tragic - I lack real words to deal with it.

5. I'm talking 1989--check the UNICEF report
The chief nutritional disorder among Iraqi children was obesity. I did misremember it somewhat, though. :)

13. We are the only one who probably give a damn about
the suffering of the children of Iraq.

And that is so sad -- wasn't there a time when the average person cared about little children?

If the Propaganda/TV media isn't reporting this -- then most people probably won't hear about it.

Women's status in Afghanistan was used to bomb the heck out of that country -- and the average citizen in Iraq -- their suffering under Saddam's rule -- now he's gone and we don't hear about the children and we don't hear about the women in Afghanistan.

I really hate the GOPigs -- I won't even talk GOPig in-laws this year -- and probably never again. Thanks Republikkklans for teaching me how to hate your guts.

7. We have officially failed at EVERYTHING in Iraq
Except for one: oil grab. I wish people in this nation would get a clue and actually follow some morals, Christian or not. This Neo-con religious pervert craze, Jim Crow for the world campaign, and Homeland Security propaganda all need to wash away. We didn't have these problems in the Gulf War, we could handle the situation when we fought some real army. I am seriously beginning to wonder if the people in this country all KNOW we are doing what the NAZIs did, but figure that they have the muscle to pull it off.

9. Well, so much for the "humanely ending the sanctions"
excuse. Just like I expected, things are far worse for the Iraqi people now than they were under the sanctions. I wonder how many kids are going to die in excess of the number who would have died just under the sanctions. Oh well, I guess that's a bunch who won't be growing up to be insurgents.:eyes:

25. Perhaps dismantling their food distribution system
wasn't such a good idea?

//

A more substantial assault on Saddam's legacy is under way in the Republican Palace, where the occupation authority is making preparations to dismantle the food distribution system which gave free rations of flour, rice, cooking oil and other staples to every Iraqi.

Described by the UN as the world's most efficient food network, the system still keeps Iraqis from going hungry. But the US civilian administrator of Iraq, Paul Bremer, views it as a dangerous socialist anachronism. The coalition provisional authority (CPA) is planning to abolish it in January, despite warnings from its own technical experts that this could lead to hunger and riots.

30. My letter sent out to my e-mail list:
Subject Let's hear it for the USA's "liberation" of Iraq!

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6541101/

I guess the "mission is accomplished" and Iraq has been "liberated" from
tyrrany. The "rose petals" Dick Cheney promised are certainly piling
up, as "freedom is on the march." As Iraqis get their first taste of
"democracy" in a war that "lasted weeks, not months" America can
celebrate it's "catastrophic success" in Iraq. This report above is
obviously "biased" because it is from the "liberal" media. But you
might want to read it and send it to your Republican "friends" anyways,
so they can dismiss the findings to avoid the cognitive dissonance of
supporting a genocidal, sociopathic, mass-murdering fascist.
