Groups Disappointed by Veteran Health Aid
WASHINGTON - Veterans' health care got a lot of attention in the just-concluded election campaign, but the Republican-led Congress is not devoting as much money to it as veterans groups and even some GOP lawmakers wanted.

The expenditure for veterans' health care will grow in 2005 to a record $30.3 billion, $1.9 billion more than this year, under the $388 billion spending bill Congress passed Saturday. Yet the total is $1.2 billion less than what the House Veterans Affairs Committee said last February was needed to maintain current benefits and services.

"The demand on the system has never been higher. The cost of health care has never been higher. This is not going to be adequate," said Richard Fuller, national legislative director of the Paralyzed Veterans of America.

David Autry, spokesman for Disabled American Veterans, said, "With the country at war, politicians make a big show about how much the country owes veterans. ... The commitment doesn't match reality

2. if this wasn't so pathetic, I would gloat. Now, how many of these
people voted for * because he is the C-in-C or something and Kerry is ... what? A decorated veteren? Let me see, trusted the cheerleader from Andover more than the decorated vet. Its too sad for words.

4. Absolutely Fucking disgusting
For almost 2 years here I have pointed out that the repukes and their "Troop Supporters" could care diddly about the VETERAN.

It is all window dressing and bull shit. There are a lot of harsh realities in the system. I love it when the AWOL CHIMPANZEE makes an announced photo op visit to a VA Hospital. The place is cleaned up quickly and no dissension is allowed.

Hell, his Photo OP to Walter Reed last week was just that. He could care less about anyone there.

He should visit the National Zoo and see his Primate Relatives.

His economic class looks on the common wounded and disabled soldier, like they look at a plumber who came to unclog the shit from their blocked toilet. They are oblivious to the suffering and dying, as they discuss their portfolios at the "Country Club"

7. Clean the place up is right!
I spent an overnight at the Durham VA once. I'm not making this up-there was dried blood on the walls, about five palm size holes in the bottom bed sheet, built up dust and slime on the bed rails, the waste bin had gnats flying all over because they won't change the liner (I had to put it out in the hall), I asked for a blanket and was told they did have any, and the pajamas they gave me smelled like the BO of the last person who wore them. If vets even get into the VA system this is what they have to look forward to.

My pity and resources will be reserved henceforth for those on the left who are fighting against treason.

8. They voted for President AWOL, screw 'em.
I heard call after call from veterans not getting the medical care or RX they needed. Yet, these same veterans trashed Kerry time and time again. Screw them all!
