Bush*s Nephew Begins Law Career Clerking in Dallas
Edited on Sat Sep-06-03 11:52 PM by kskiska
How nice for him that he didn't have to go to Iraq.

FORT WORTH -- For some observers, he represents the future of the Republican Party: a young lawyer with movie-star good looks; once voted by People magazine as one of the nation's 100 most eligible bachelors; the bilingual son of a Mexican-born mother destined to attract Latino voters to the GOP.

(snip)

In a telephone interview, Bush, who attended Rice University and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin in June, said he wants to establish his law career first and has no personal political ambitions for the near future.

"I have no political plans, just to help out with my uncle in 2004," he said Thursday from his office, alluding to campaigning for the president's re-election bid. "Right now, my focus is to get my career started as a lawyer."

(snip)

Bush has his professional future mapped out. After the one-year clerkship, he plans to practice business law and join the Dallas office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, one of the top corporate law firms in the nation.

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in a brief statement, "I'm very proud of all my son has accomplished, and I'm a very proud father."

3. Yes, he's The Stalker
Edited on Sun Sep-07-03 12:29 AM by cheryl_d
Here's the link on the stalking report from The Smoking Gun:

I'll say this for the pResidential nephew: he got into UT Law School, whereas his uncle wasn't able to and instead had to settle for his daddy pullin' strings to get him into Harvard's MBA program.

2. I guess he wants to be Governor of Texas one day.
And, then he wants to become president.

Heaven help Texas...and, the rest of America! This 'Bush dynasty' crap is a friggin' nightmare!

5. Real nice kids Jeb has.
George P. is a stalker, Noelle is a druggy, and Jeb Jr decided it would be a good idea to get nookie in the Talahassee Mall parking lot 1 month before election 2000. Ironically, I think Neil's daughter, the model, is the only grandkid of poppy and barb that hasn't been busted for one thing or another.

8. Give SOME credit !!!!
It was this one that stood up with his sister at her court appearances. Except for the one they wouldn't let him. The
day AWOL and Jeb were in Daytona raising 1.5 mill for the gov campaign, happened to be on a day of her court appearance in Orlando, so they brought the married sister who we wouldn't know her last name to stand up with her.

And the very next week, for the televised debate, Poppy. Babs and the whole damned crew were here. Made me sick. Still does

12. I Wonder What His Law School Grades Were Like
Getting into UT Law is a significant accomplishment for Those Without Clout; and Akin Gump is one of Dallas' premier firms---did Mr. Bush make law review while at UT?

Just wondering.....

His Reign Should be Interesting for the extreme fraying of the social fabric and the outbreak of True Authoritarianism.

14. Ah, Caligula-------But He Lasted 3Yrs, 10Mos, & 8Da
It took the Romans "three years, ten months and eight days" to get to know the real Caligula. This would take us to, uh, November 2004.

******QUOTE*****
http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/ancient/suetonius-caligula.html

.... rearing a viper for the Roman people and a Phaethon (": a son of Helios who drives his father's sun-chariot through the sky but loses control and is struck down by a thunderbolt of Zeus") for the world. ....

.... he poisoned Tiberius, as some think, and ordered that his ring be taken from him while he still breathed ....

.... By thus gaining the throne he fulfilled the highest hopes of the Roman people, or I may say of all mankind, since he was the prince most earnestly desired by the great part of the provincials and soldiers, many of whom had known him in his infancy ....

.... He even used openly to deplore the state of his times, because they had been marked by no public disasters,.....and every now and then he wished for the destruction of his armies, for famine, pestilence, fires, or a great earthquake. ....

.... ruled three years, ten months and eight days ....

15. The Romans were apparently more politically astute than many citizens
Edited on Sun Sep-07-03 01:15 PM by benfranklin1776
of our present democracy who apparently have short attention spans with respect to the machinations of this crime family. Had their memories of the sufferings endured under George I been longer, George the junior would never have even been elected dogcatcher in Midland Texas, let alone been a candidate for President. It gives me scant comfort that seventy percent of our populace blithely accepts the propaganda that Iraq was in league with AlQueada, and thus does not bolster my hopes that they will awaken and banish the felonious Bush "dynasty" to the political wastelands where it originated and where it belongs. Thus Mr. Paine's prediction about the reign of Caligula P may regrettably come to pass if the course of events are not changed and the public not sufficiently awakened to this cabal's ceaseless striving to create a new Corpro-Roman empire. Still there are hopeful signs reflected in his poll numbers, which are plummeting faster than Enron stock, that the reign of looting will end prematurely in November 2004, long before "Little Boots P" has the chance to attain the throne.
