Iraqi PM orders probe into Baghdad mosque raid
BAGHDAD, Nov 22 (Reuters) - Iraq's prime minister said on Monday mistakes were made during a raid on a Baghdad mosque last week that sparked a surge in violence in the capital, and he had ordered an investigation.

Iraqi National Guardsmen backed by U.S. troops raided the Abu Hanifa mosque in the staunchly Sunni Aadhamiya neighbourhood as Friday prayers were ending last week and clashed with worshippers. At least four people were killed and several wounded, witnesses and the Muslim Clerics Association said.

A statement from the office of Prime Minister Iyad Allawi quoted him as telling a group of Sunni clerics that "although there had been reports of terrorist activity around the mosque, mistakes appeared to have been made and that he had ordered a full investigation."

On Saturday, violence erupted in Aadhamiya, with dozens of insurgents taking to the streets and attacking a police station. Many Sunni Muslims condemned the mosque raid.

1. "mistakes were made", Allawi says
Love that passive voice. Allawai appears to have an aptitude for all this 'being a lackey' business.

He probably feels the heat and is realizing that anyone who is sent to do WetDiaper's business has a short shelf-life.
