Second suspect killed in Venezuela bomb probe
Last Update: Friday, November 26, 2004. 1:41pm (AEDT)
Second suspect killed in Venezuela bomb probe
Venezuelan police probing the murder of a top prosecutor, who had been investigating opponents of President Hugo Chavez, have shot dead a second suspect linked to the case.

Police exchanged shots with the man as they raided the hotel in western Lara state as part of the widening probe into last week's bombing murder of Danilo Anderson, the prosecutor leading an inquiry into a 2002 coup against Mr Chavez.

"During the investigation, there was a clash between a group of detectives and someone linked to this case," Interior Minister Jesse Chacon told reporters in Caracas.

Police found explosives in the man's car, authorities said without naming the suspect or giving further details.
