Bush Vows to Work on WTO Compliance, Blasts Airbus
CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - President Bush pledged on Friday to work with Congress to comply with a WTO ruling in a row over payment of anti-dumping duties to U.S. companies, and said he expected the trade body to hold Europe to account over "unfair" subsidies to aircraft maker Airbus .

The World Trade Organization earlier on Friday gave a green light to the European Union, Japan and others to slap the United States with some $150 million in sanctions on everything from sweet corn to metals and textiles.

While quite small initially, the level of punitive duties will be reviewed each year and could rise sharply.

"I'll work with Congress to get into compliance," Bush told reporters in Crawford, Texas, where he is vacationing on his ranch.

2. if i remember correctly
we are making the wing frames for the airbus here in the usa. it`s actually cheaper for the euro`s to bring work here than to make it in europe. we just got a magazine that was printed in england ,the pound is at 1.80+ to the usa dollar, so it seems we work for one hell of alot less...

3. Not expert on the subject
But Boeing gets more subsidies in the form of military orders than Airbus, the real difference is that Airbus is able to respond better to the current needs of the market. Americans can't build cars that other people would want, why would airplanes be different?
