Pakistan bans Newsweek magazine
BBC News

The latest issue of US news magazine Newsweek has been banned in Pakistan for publishing material that "desecrates the Koran".

A district magistrate in the capital, Islamabad, ordered all copies of the 22 November issue to be destroyed.

The issue contains an article about murdered Dutch film-maker Theo Van Gogh and pictures of a woman with Koranic verses inscribed on her body.

Islamic parties said the article showed Western bias against Muslims.

1. and your point being?
So anything we do to these 'crazy Muslims" is OK because they are nuts anyway.......?

That Pakistan is ruled by a military dictatorship isn't important 'cause we NEED them, that everything Bush has done has escalated the fears of Islamists that the Christian west is embarking upon a new crusade designed to wipe out all Muslim influences in the world is secondary.

There are those in the USA who kill abortion doctors in the name of their religious beliefs, so are they any different from the extremism noted in this article?

It seems to me that the point of posting this is to somehow justify the wholesale slaughter going on in that region....Am I wrong?

2. Oh you can't be referring to the "Democratic Republic of Pakistan"?
That's what * referred to "Democratic Pakistan" during his interview over in Ireland. You know when he insisted and butted in several times, "Let me finish!"

Gee, do I detect a chink in the resolve of our ole' bud General Muscharif <sp?> in our collaboration against the war on terror?
