Patriot Act resolution is protest, not policy

By WALT WILLIAMS Chronicle Staff Writer

Now that Bozeman is officially protesting the Patriot Act, don't expect the city to join one of the many lawsuits seeking to repeal it.

In fact, don't expect much at all.

"The resolution itself required we mail it to the Montana congressional delegation and the Montana State Legislature and the governor," City Manager Clark Johnson said.

And that's it.

The resolution passed 3-2 by Bozeman City Commission Tuesday is more symbolism than policy.
