Essayists Analyze Clinton's Presidency
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The University of Arkansas Press has published the first scholarly assessment of Bill Clinton's presidency, titled "The Clinton Riddle."

The compilation of essays by 11 of the nation's top political scientists and historians concludes that Clinton was "a pragmatic and defensive player" who was at his best when under attack.

At the same time, it says 100 years from now, people still will be trying to figure out the lessons of the Clinton era.

The book promises to be more even-handed than the presidential library and museum in Little Rock, which presents some of the controversies of Clinton's presidency squarely from his perspective. The library opened with a gala celebration and has already been criticized for downplaying impeachment, the Whitewater investigation and Clinton's sex scandals.

1. Call me crazy, but I think Clinton was the best president since
Roosevelt. Consenting relations and everything else.

2. and call me crazy, but...
do these "critics" of the presidential library actually think Clinton should contribute to the lunacy and play UP the Whitewater so-called scandal, and the eventual impeachment, which dominated the news for about seven years?
I mean, if he can't present his own side in his own library, where can he?

3. No kidding. Other than balancing the budget, winning a war
(Yugoslavia), getting the Palestinians and Israelis to at least sit down, and reforming welfare, he really didn't do much. I mean we know republicans NEVER cheat on their wives.
