BBC:New York's HIV experiment - secret drug test on fostered babies
Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 03:26 PM by Monkie
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/this_world/4038375.stm

"Over 23,000 of the city's children are either in foster care or independent homes run mostly by religious organisations on behalf of the local authorities and almost 99% are black or hispanic

Some of these kids come from "crack" mothers and have been infected with the HIV virus. For over a decade, this became the target group for experimentation involving cocktails of toxic drugs"

"Central to this story is the city's child welfare department, the Administration for Children's Services (ACS).

The ACS, as it is known, was granted far-reaching powers in the 1990s by then-Republican Mayor Rudi Giuliani, after a particularly horrific child killing"

trying not to be sick,
faith based organisations and drugcompanies experimenting on fostered hiv positive crackbabies

dog eat dog world. The more poor people to exploit the better. As long as they don't have to treat us as if we were human. You know they believe if God loved us the way He loves them we would be them.

36. To put a finer point on it --
It's about "innocent life" (the unborn) versus NOT so innocent life. And that implies that someone is doing the sorting out and JUDGING, and guess who the judges are?

Nevermind "Judge not lest ye be judged," somehow they believe that THEY have the same authority God does.

A few posts upthread hit on another critically import aspect of this, the belief that if God loved others enough they'd be well-off and among "the chosen" as well, so pitiful circumstances -- poverty and its many attendant problems -- are merely proof that those so affected are NOT among God's chosen, or the forgiven, or the worthy, or the salvageable, and certainly not the "innocent."

Or, as Howard Dean put it so well, "George Bush believes that people are wealthy because they deserve it, and people are poor for the same reason."

It's a wonderfully self-reinforcing (tho sick and decidedly UNChristian) mode of thought.

Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 05:19 PM by Tempest
Boxing term used when comparing fighters. They use tape measures to measure reach, chest size, waist, biceps, etc.

In this case, comparing Bloomberg's actions to the revelation of this henious crime against helpless children.

Giving Ghouliani a taste of his own medicine would be appropriate.

37. Here's something that could bear some googling
and/or searching DU since it has been discussed a number of times here --

EUGENICS and the Bush family's continued involvement in it. Also many (if not all) of our wonderful pharmaceuticals.

Further, there's a smallish pharmaceutical in Texas, and I can never remember the name nor have I been able to locate its name again, with ties to Bush and James Baker (and possibly even Rice University), with some not very savory things going on there -- possibly some of the drugs that were given to Gulf War I vets (can't remember the details here, but this firm keeps a fairly low profile). I think the firm's name begins with an O and it's not a long name. I spent time googling on it, but without the firm's name, I came up empty.

Then there's PNAC's call for genetic weapons of mass destruction, which is, of course, genocide.

31. Those Republicans really know how to do it up right, don't they?
This article is painful to read:
We asked Dr David Rasnick, visiting scholar at the University of Berkeley, for his opinion on some of the experiments.

He said: "We're talking about serious, serious side-effects. These children are going to be absolutely miserable. They're going to have cramps, diarrhoea and their joints are going to swell up. They're going to roll around the ground and you can't touch them."
(snip)

At Incarnation, if a child refused to take the medicines offered, he or she was force-fed through a peg-tube inserted into the stomach.
(snip)

Jacklyn, a trained paediatric nurse, had taken the fatal step of taking the children off the drugs, which had resulted in an immediate boost to their health and happiness.

As a result she was branded a child abuser in court. She has not been allowed to see the children since.
(snip)

We talk to a child who spent years on drugs programmes which made them and their friends ill, and we discover that Incarnation is not an isolated case. The experiments continue to be carried out on the poor children of New York City.
(snip)
How can ANYONE, ANYONE condone this sadistic system?

will probably get more press than this. This is a horrific story -- one that should serve as an example for BOTH parties about the horrors of an unchecked and overreaching government -- and WORSE -- collusion with drug companies.

It is a careful balance though -- because the wingdings also want CPS to be scaled back so they can beat their kids within an inch of their lives and not have to worry about "bruises" being found by teachers.

This is sickening -- and this should be top story in the U.S. -- can we blast the media, and get them to work on it?

Statement by Tommy G. Thompson, Secretary of Health and Human Services Regarding World AIDS Day 2004, December 1, 2004
Tuesday November 30, 5:03 pm ET

WASHINGTON, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is a statement by Tommy G. Thompson, Secretary of Health and Human Services regarding World AIDS Day 2004, December 1, 2004:
World AIDS Day is an important opportunity to remember those lost to AIDS. Just as importantly, it is an opportunity to raise awareness of the global epidemic and efforts to halt the spread of this terrible disease.

HIV/AIDS continues to be a growing threat to world health. An estimated 39 million people are infected with HIV. About 3 million men and women died of AIDS in 2003 and there were close to 5 million new infections worldwide. In the United States, it is estimated that up to 950,000 Americans are living with HIV, with 40,000 new infections every year.

I find both practices to be reprehensible. I'm sorry if I'm not "compassionate" enough for you. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

This has been going on for years with foster children-

It is ROUTINE to use foster children in clinical drug trials,
