Man Gets Probation in Botched Castration
PITTSBURGH -- A man who botched the castration of a transgendered woman will spend the next three years on probation. "I have no intention of doing this again to animals or humans," Douglas Lenhart, 49, told Allegheny County Judge John Zottola on Monday. "I'm completely out of this. Completely done."

Zottola sentenced Lenhart to jail time he had already served and will let him serve his probation in Kansas City, Kan., where he now lives.

In July, Lenhart acknowledged trying to castrate Catherine Watson, 46. Watson was born with nonfunctioning male genitals and has lived as a woman since age 9, Lenhart's defense attorney James Wymard said.
.....
Lenhart had said Watson was "desperate" to find someone to perform the surgery and he thought he could do it because of his experience castrating animals on a farm.

3. Maybe so, but I thought it might lead to a discussion of the plight...
of the transgendered, and what should be the requirements for sex change surgery.

4. Perhaps some people prefer to expound on their heterosexuality

by looking down on those that are different due to their gender identity or sexual orientation, which is the likely outcome of confining this thread to The Lounge.

I will point out that there is a lot of prejudice in the gay and lesbian community towards those that suffer from gender disphoria, and there is total ignorance in both the gay and straight community of the problems of the intersexed and the involuntary mutilations they undergo as children.

2. whatcha gonna do? SRS surgery is expensive.
And this lady sounds like she was born intersexed to begin with. It's a shame that her SRS isn't funded by her insurance.
