Iran nabs another nuclear 'spy': reports
TEHRAN (AFP) - Iran's intelligence ministry has announced the arrest of a "spy" accused of setting up a fake nuclear company as part of a bizarre international plot to damage the Islamic republic's reputation, press reports said.

"Asghar C., who has a past of spying for foreigners, was seeking to make centrifuges with a fictitious contract and under the name of a false company," the intelligence ministry was quoted as saying in a statement..

By pretending to manufacture centrifuges, the machines that can enrich uranium to make both fuel for a civilian reactor or the explosive core of a nuclear device, "this individual was trying to damage Iran's international commitments."

The statement said the man "was arrested and handed over to the courts."

It said the United States has put into action a bizarre plan so it can "accuse Iran of not respecting international conventions and past accords and in this regard certain individuals are taking actions to facilitate these accusations."

Iranians Arrested on Vision-System Export

~snip~
The two suspects, Mahmoud Seif and Shahrzad Mir Gholikhan, were arrested earlier this week on export violation charges in Vienna, Austria, by U.S. and Austrian authorities shortly after they arrived to pick up their first batch of night-vision equipment. The investigation dates to August 2002 and involves ICE, the Defense Criminal Investigative Service and Austrian security personnel.

Exports of such advanced military equipment from the United States is forbidden without permission from the State Department. Iran is also subject to sanctions that bar most other U.S. exports. Austrian laws also prohibit such technology transfers.

During negotiations for the night-vision systems, Seif and Gholikhan allegedly said they were working in direct contact with the Iranian goverment, ICE officials said.

The case marked the latest in a string of attempts by Iranians to illegally obtain advanced U.S. military equipment, which has also included several recent efforts to buy components for missiles, helicopters and jet fighter aircraft.

5. The aggressive, imperialistic PNAC certainly lends credibility,...
,...to this story. The neocons undoubtedly will do whatever they have to in order to "see results",...the results they want,...which has never been honestly laid out in a democratic manner for open and honest debate in their own country.
