Bush to Award Three Medals of Freedom
WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) is awarding the nation's highest civilian honor to three men central to his Iraq (news - web sites) policy, the White House announced Thursday.

Bush has chosen retired Gen. Tommy Franks, who oversaw combat in Afghanistan (news - web sites) and the initial invasion of Iraq, former CIA (news - web sites) Director George Tenet and former Iraq administrator L. Paul Bremer to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The president will hand out the awards at a White House ceremony Dec. 14, press secretary Scott McClellan said.
........
This fall, Bremer suggested the United States had paid a price in Iraq in the immediate aftermath of major combat operations because it did not have enough troops in place to stop the looting.

Those remarks gave Bush critics ammunition for their claims that the administration's postwar planning was inadequate.

Bremer tried to calm that controversy by saying he had constantly supported the president's strategy in Iraq.

8. 3 out of 5 isn't bad

That's right, 3 out of the 5 worst decision makers in the Iraqi mess.

The other two being Rummy and Cheney.

Tenet was the "Slam Dunk" WMD guy (despite his own agency saying
"hold on a minute there").

Franks was the "shock and awe" plus the "rapid advance" strategist
that created chaos in the fall of the Saddam gov. Plus he, along
with Rummy, was the "120,000 should do the trick" guy, with no
provisions for security forces AFTER the main war was over.

And Bremer was the "we need to disband the Iraqi army (creating
a huge population of unemployed armed insurgents), and we must
purge the Bathists (leaving an infrastructure devoid of anyone
capable of making anything work... thus creating even MORE pissed
off people - now insurgents) AND, for the trifecta, he started
awarding contracts to US companies (like Hallibuton) who DIDN'T
hire locals to do things like drive trucks, but hired TARGETS at
astronomical wages from the US to do those jobs... thus pissing
off even more people.

Three complete incompetents. Medal of Freedom winners. Great.

,...as you should expect them to do unto you,...the way you treated them,...as expendible lives,...for your glory.

GWB,...you deserve the hell you have delivered,...and you will get ten-fold what you gave,...per the verse.

12. Well, it makes perfect sense
Bush isn't going to admit he fucked up. He isn't going to admit anyone misled him. Instead, he's going to award medals to the people who misled him the worst.

17. These medals have no meaning for me since they are awarded by
Bush, the pretender to the throne. Receiving anything from Bush would not be an honor to me.
