Reid: Congress Should Stay Until Spy Bill Passes
Of course they won't but give 'em hell anyways Harry.

By Thomas Ferraro

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A bill backed by President Bush to overhaul American spy agencies faced an uncertain future on Sunday and a top Democrat said the Republican-led Congress should not adjourn for the year until it passes.

With lawmakers set to begin returning to Capitol Hill on Monday for an anticipated brief session, Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada said Bush needs to crank up pressure on fellow Republicans to embrace the bipartisan measure.

"The Congress of the United States should not leave this town until we pass this," Reid, the incoming Senate Democratic leader, told NBC's "Meet the Press."

Sen. Orrin Hatch, a Utah Republican, voiced optimism that common ground could be found to resolve remaining differences.

4. WTF. Now, it's a "spy bill"? WTF are they talking about?
OHHHHH,...I seeeeeee,....it's that new "intelligence" bill.

All I wanna know is,...does it separate the power of the purse from the pentagon and actually provide utility/funnel the resources?

For some reason, I am thinking that, the absence of a REAL common cause to actually PROTECT the citizenry will inevitably result a bill accomodating the "powers that be".

BUT, damn,...at least it's a start,...I hope. :bounce:
