Democrats face off in second fall debate (Morgan State University)
BALTIMORE (AP)

--- The 90-minute debate at Morgan State University was to be broadcast live at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox News Channel. It was the first debate sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus and the first conducted on the campus of a historically black university, organizers said.

They hoped to draw attention to concerns of the black community, including economic woes and racial parity. Last week's debate in New Mexico was geared toward Hispanic issues, with the candidates fielding and answering some questions in Spanish.

The first debate was sanctioned by the Democratic Party. The CBC insisted on its own session, even without the party's blessing, and the candidates agreed to come to avoid angering a key Democratic constituency.

In addition to Kerry and Dean, the cast included former Illinois Sen. Carol Moseley Braun, Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, Rep. Dick Gephardt of Missouri, Sen. Bob Graham of Florida, Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and Al Sharpton of New York. ---

2. I don't have Fox News! :(
This usually doesn't bother me.

Does anyone know if they post the transcript on the net the next day or so?

3. Dish TV also doesn't carry FOX news
That usually excited me but it's a shame many people won't be able to see this very important debate.

FOX is rated number 1 but how many FOX viewers are really gonna watch it, they should of went with CNN, or network TV.... maybe MTV would of helped.

4. OK, that's pretty darned funny actually.
You're going to subject a bunch of rabid right wingers to a Democratic presidential debate sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus.

I'm sure the commentary on the debate will be 'fair and balanced' too.

It almost seems like DU webcasting a Republican debate sponsored by Grover Norquist or the Christian fundies.

Talk about missing your target audience.

5. My prediction is that the Fox News satellite feed will go down...
just as Dean starts his first comments. Then they'll go to black for a few minutes, then run back-to-back infomercials for the Abdominizer and the Popeil Food Dehydrator / Beef Jerky Maker.

WTF is up with that??????

:tinfoilhat:

Seriously, this bears further discussion... is something going to "happen" tonight around 8 that will force the preemption of debate coverage????

8. They say it will still be on...
"Tuesday's debate will air live on Fox News Channel at 8 p.m. ET. Brit Hume, host of "Special Report With Brit Hume," the channel's premier political news show, is moderating the event, the first of two being co-sponsored by CBCI and Fox News. The second debate will be held on Oct. 26 in Detroit."

I don't know about the channel 8 crap, is it just broadcast locally? Faux news for me is channel 79, Comcast Digital Cable...

9. Kicking to call attention to Sean Reynold's post.
Sean's got a really good point here... why is this article in the past tense? Anyone have any opinions/ideas/conspiracy theories on this?

Just checking,
Jennifer :-)
