CAIRO (AFP) - A car bomb killed and injured a "large number" of people in the Kurdish city of Arbil, in northern Iraq, Egypt's official MENA news agency said.

The explosion was set off near a checkpoint of the Kurdish Democratic Party (KDP) of Massoud Barzani, the report said, quoting witnesses.

Several Injured in Iraq Car Bombing

ANKARA, Turkey - A car bomb exploded Tuesday outside an office used by U.S soldiers in northern Iraq (news - web sites), private CNN-Turk television reported. Several people were reported wounded, but it was unclear if Americans were among them.

The wounded included Iraqi Kurdish guards and children from nearby houses. Firefighters rushed to the scene.

U.S. military officials said they could not immediately confirm the report.

9. Gack. Don, I put up a post earlier today about this not knowing how to

spell "Erbil", or "Arbil" or "Irbil"...I've seen it spelled all those ways and waiting for someone to try "Orbil". Such is the difficulty of translation using different alphabets. We're reduced to phonetics, obviously which don't always work very well. :-(

But here's one I think is fairly straightforward: PHUCK U BUSH.
