Judge: Condit must reveal information about sexual relationship, finances
Judge: Condit must reveal information about sexual relationship, finances

By LARRY NEUMEISTER
Associated Press Writer

December 8, 2004, 8:19 PM EST

NEW YORK -- Former Rep. Gary Condit must tell lawyers about his sexual relationships for a defamation lawsuit he brought against a magazine writer who suggested Condit did not tell all he knew about the death of intern Chandra Levy, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.

The ruling does not mean that the information elicited by lawyers for author Doiminick Dunne, a special correspondent to Vanity Fair magazine, will be made public, said Judge Peter K. Leisure. The judge said he may order the testimony to be kept confidential.

Ruling in Manhattan, Leisure wrote that Condit cannot "use the court system as both a sword and a shield" by filing the $11 million lawsuit in December 2002 and then refusing to answer questions that may aid Dunne's defense.

Condit refused to answer questions about his sexual relationships and his finances in a Sept. 27 deposition in the case, the judge said.

The lawsuit was filed after Dunne made comments on "The Laura Ingraham Show," "ET Online" and "Larry King Live" about Levy's disappearance. Her remains were found in May 2002 in a Washington, D.C.

3. Let's start a pool for how long it takes for the info to get leaked
I say before the sun goes down the day of the deposition.

4. I say Condit will drop the lawsuit
Whole thing is foolishness. Dunne shouldn't have made those outrageous accusations (I like many of the things Dunne has written about, but he went over the line with Condit) and Condit should have been forthcoming and helped the investigation of Chandra Levy's disappearance.

And the media saturation of this particular case while all kinds of horrible things were being done by bushco is the most outrageous part of all.

5. You got that right
Whenever the shit is hitting the fan in DC, the lamestream media focuses on a convenient "crime of the century." Of course, Condit did not help matters, first, by screwing around, second, by failing to be forthcoming, and third, by being a Democrat. Had he been a Republican, it probably would have been a "nothing to see here, move along now" exercise...and the story about that crazy guy who ran around Rock Creek Park grabbing women running with Walkmans would have gotten far more attention.

I think that guy did it. But I don't think they'll ever know, unless he gets confessional...and that's probably not likely.
