Pontifical University to Take on the Devil (Course on Satanism/Exorcism)
Edited on Thu Dec-09-04 11:04 PM by Khephra
snip.......

A Vatican university said on Thursday it will hold a special "theoretical and practical" course for Roman Catholic priests on Satanism and exorcism in response to what the Church says is a worrying interest in the occult, particularly among the young.

This year, Italy was gripped by the story of two teenage members of a heavy metal rock band called the "Beasts of Satan" who were killed by other band members in a human sacrifice.

The deaths horrified Catholic Italy, with pages of newspapers given over to descriptions of the black candles and goats' skulls decorating one victim's bedroom and witness statements of sexual violence.

The Regina Apostolorum, one of Rome's most prestigious pontifical universities, said in a statement that such episodes should be seen as an "alarm bell to take seriously a problem which is still far too underestimated."

"In the last few years there has been a lot of interest in Satanism and it develops because of the media. It's not that the devil is in the media, rock and roll or the Internet but the media can be damaging when it is used the wrong way," Carlo Climati, one of the professors of the course, told Reuters.

4. I hope that you don't have problems with Freemasons?
Seeing as how so many of us were involved with founding this country?

6. Nah.
Most (I'd say 90%) are church-going Christians, which is why it's so laughable to hear Pat Robertson rant against us as being Satanists.

In the appendant orders (what non-members call the "higher degrees) there's admonishments to never submit to unjust authority and this is where a lot of misunderstandings between Christianty and Masonry occur. This has been a particular stickler for the Catholic Church which wants total submission no matter if the Church is right or wrong. Masonry also encourages people of different faiths to franternize, which many religious authorities see as being dangerous as it tends to open people's minds about other religions. It's just easier to smear us as Satanists than to try to understand our Brotherhood.

Masons really can't win. We're hated by the RW as Satanists and by the Left-wing as...well, sometimes Satanists too. Yet these same critics never can explain how we'd even have this wonderful country if it wasn't for the hard work of quite a few Masons and Masonic lodges during the Revolution.

You're right--this is a country of Freemasons. And they were mostly Deists to boot. That's one reason the Right-wing fundies hate us--we take away their myths about the USA being a Christian country.

8. And so was/is:
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 12:23 AM by Khephra
Birch Bayh (the good Bayh), Lloyd Bentsen, Mel Blanc, Senator Byrd, Churchill, Mark Twain, W.E.B. DuBois, Douglas Fairbanks, W. C. Fields, Benjamin Franklin, Harry Houdini, Thurgood Marshall, Kweisi Mfume, Bronson Pinchot, Sen. Rangle, and one of the loudest Democrats of all-time--Will Rodgers

Oh yeah, I'll see your Billy Graham and raise you a Reverend Jesse Jackson.

Other than the fact that all these men were Masons and believed in a God (and there's actually some question as to whether Graham is a Mason or not), can anyone tell me what these people have in common?

Anyone?

It can't be done.

Yeah, like I'm going to believe that all these people disavowed their faiths and hid the fact that Masonry was part of a solar-cult for all their lives.

ACTUALLY, the article you link is confusing. It says "solar-phallic" yet it says that Mason's true god is Lilith. Which is it?

It also tries to imply a Freemason conection to JFK's death--just because two Freemasons were in attendance at a "secret" meeting.

Wow...that's proof if I ever heard it that we're invovled in evil things! Two Masons at the same meeting! Why did I not see it all before? Back in the 60's it was harder trying to hold a meeting in which there weren't Masons there as it was much more popular back then.

10. Graham is a Minister.

If it's so Godly and great, why does he deny this.

What does Oral Roberts, Robert Schuller and Norman Vincent Peale have in common? They are all 33rd Degree Freemasons. Yet these people preach against our beliefs, they are hypocrites as most Reich Wingers are. I don't care what they do just as long as they would be willing to live and let live, but they aren't.

11. What question is that an answer to?
I asked what they all had in common other than Masonic membership and a belief in a God.

Yeah, Graham is a minister. Your point?

I personally don't care what they do, but when they start butting into other peoples business and influencing government with their religion, that a violation of separation of church and state. Being they Christians or Luciferian or a perverse mix of both. That's the hypocrisy. Don't do as we do, do as we say crap that ticks me off. Let them pray to whomever they like, don't try to influence the country and come off with a holier than thou attitude. Graham is a Freemason, he doesn't have to lie about it, if there is nothing wrong with it.
Jackson's not a hypocrite, he admits it and doesn't try and have his religion influence government.

13. Like every organization founded by humans
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 02:00 AM by Khephra
The occasional asshole gets in.

American masonry is sited as being one of the influences that brought about the separation of Church and State. In American lodges there are two topics which we are forbidden to bring up (lest it bring about bad feelings between members) and that's religion and politics. If Graham is for destroying that wall and he's a Mason then he's not been paying close attention over the years.

Bash away at individuals! I do that all the time. I'm just concerned those who think that the whole organization is evil.

Although, that link you provided is LOL funny in the sense that its ideas of Masonry is totally 100% wrong.

Lilith AND Solar-phallic? The article can't even figure out what type of secret religion Masonry is in that piece. Being Solar-phallic isn't even anything that bad. Christianity has been described by some religious scholars as a Solar-phallic.

(BTW, all the Masonic and non-conspiracy minded researchers still question Graham's membership. Providing links from hysterical anti-Mason sites that believe we're the root of all evil aren't that trustworthy in determining a person's membership or not. Most of those sites claim both Bushs when in fact neither one is a Mason.)

Edited on Thu Dec-09-04 11:16 PM by samwisefoxburr
...and perish the thought that a Satanist can be anti-war, anti-violence, pro-peace, etc, etc.

When it's a Christian that sacrifices someone, they are deemed insane, but when a Satanist sacrifices someone, it's seen as a normal part of their religion.

9. I wish they could also offer a course
on navigation about flat surface, like the Earth. That would save us tons of gas and time. These orthodromy/loxodromy satanic inventions cost hard-working Americans.
And since women have no soul, as savages, a whole new curriculum in psychology opens up. Ah! The infinity of possibilities!
