Kerik to return to job with Giuliani's firm
Bernard Kerik, the former nominee for Homeland Security secretary, will return to work at Giuliani Partners "in the very near future," a spokeswoman for the Manhattan consulting firm said Sunday.

Revelations that led the city's former police commissioner to withdraw his name for the federal post will apparently not affect his employment at the firm, which is headed by former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, said spokeswoman Sunny Mindel.

~snip~

Mindel didn't know if Kerik had paid his back taxes but said he was "working it out now if he hasn't." She couldn't estimate how much he owed.

Questions about other aspects of Kerik's professional career and personal life -- including an aborted mission to train Iraqi police officers and an alleged affair with a subordinate while city corrections commissioner -- have dogged Kerik since President George W. Bush tapped him Dec. 2.

3. With all of the crap going on in the world, FINALLY a happy ending.
Yep, that's sarcasm boys 'n' girls. We all expected that bloated, corrupt POS to have the most golden of golden parachutes, didn't we?

:grr:

By the way, Drudge reports the following on his front page (but does NOT list a source):

"Rudy Giuliani had a Christmas dinner at the White House on Sunday night, and he attended with one goal in mind: To apologize to Bush for pushing Bernard Kerik as homeland security secretary and then watching as Kerik's nomination collapsed in legal problems and embarrassed the president of the United States..."

4. Giuliani 'heartbroken,' 'embarrassed' by Kerik withdrawal
NEW YORK - A "heartbroken" and "embarrassed" Rudy Giuliani personally took some blame Saturday over the withdrawal of Bernard Kerik as the choice for Homeland Security boss.

"I apologized" to White House chief of staff Andrew Card, Giuliani told a crush of reporters at a Times Square press conference Saturday.

"I told him that this is our responsibility. ... It's an embarrassment to me and to Bernie and to those of us that supported him because we should have found this out earlier."

But he shot down the perennial question of whether he'd step up if asked to fill in as Kerik's replacement, even as some Washington officials whispered that "America's mayor" would have been a better choice.

Kerik's pullout just a week after winning Bush's nomination to the crucial post is the first major embarrassment for Giuliani since leaving office a hero after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. But most political watchers predicted any harm to Giuliani would be short-lived and wouldn't affect a potential 2008 presidential run.

5. Shut up, Rudy!
Kerik knew about all the skeletons in his closet. The only thing you two are "embarrassed" about is that he got caught!

11. How do you like being a weapon of mass distraction, Rudy?
Maybe you were wrong to reccomend him, but it was equally wrong of the Bush regime to hire him without checking him out thuroughly. This is BUSH'S first post-election blunder, not yours!
