WASHINGTON — The rapid turnover of top-level managers and highly trained specialists since Sept. 11 is causing disorder within the FBI (news - web sites) and undercutting its efforts to meet the mandate of Congress to dramatically expand its intelligence and counter-terrorism capabilities.



Its new intelligence arm, which is to form the core of a transformed FBI, is losing dozens of analysts who are supposed to connect the dots to protect the country from another terrorist attack.


All four members of the top management team announced by Director Robert S. Mueller III shortly after the Sept. 11 attacks have left their jobs — as have their successors. Some other officials have had three or even four jobs since the attacks.


Since Sept. 11, five people have held the bureau's top counter-terrorism job. Five others filled the top computer job within a 24-month period.

because the FBI is being used to spy on people not connected to terrorism, like peace groups and environmental groups?

For such a nut he seemed to like to know the sex life of every one else.We seem to be in the start of a new group of 'watching us' people and it is looking bigger and I think it will run all these other groups. I would bet the FBI people see this and are just bailing out. It seems more and more the feds have to line us up to think the right way.I still can not believe that the GOP was so worried about the Dem doing this when they have done it so fast and you just have to get into line with them or your anti-Am.Really odd. We have reached a socialist state with gov. control of just about every thing with the Republican party. I know I am more libertarian than ever before with all this.

2. I bet if they asked a lot of these analysts why they are leaving,

they'd find out that they were tired of being harassed by the Bushites into falsifying their analyses to fit *'s prejudices. Simple as that. They saw what happened to the two agents who tried in vain to report the funny stuff going on in the flight schools -- even after they were proven right, they were treated like dirt.
