Election challenge filed hours before Electoral College vote in Ohio
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Dissident groups asked the Ohio Supreme Court on Monday to review the outcome of the state's presidential race, hours before the Ohio delegation to the Electoral College was to cast ballots for president and vice president.

<snip>

The Rev. Jesse Jackson and attorney Cliff Arnebeck of the Massachusetts-based Alliance for Democracy accused President Bush's campaign of ''high-tech vote stealing.''

Jackson said the challengers noticed Bush generally received more votes in counties that use optical-scan voting machines and questioned whether the machines were calibrated to record votes for Bush.

<snip>

If the court decides to hear the challenge, it can declare a new winner or throw out the results. The challengers also planned to ask the court to stop the Electoral College delegation's vote until their case can be decided.

10. At least "dissident"
is a step up from "internet conspiracy theorist".

12. Fair use
That's the right use of the word "dissident." The fact that it is used for anti-US Iraqis as well gives it an unintended connotation, but the fact is, we're out of words that the right and left can agree on.

6. It's official
Ohio's richest, whitest, oldest Republicans have certified the fraudulent 2004 election. They are all enablers of fascism.

16. I think you're right about that.
I never saw so much "blue" hair in my life. I thought the ladies had quit doing blue hair. And I got to see Ken Blackwell, too. It was too bad that C-Span didn't let us hear the press question Blackwell.

24.  I could hear some of it (with background noise)...
And Blackwell told the reporters that Kerry had NOT contested the election. The the results were fair, and that the complaints of irregularities were becuase of 'people who were just passionate about their candidate.' In short, he was lying through his freckles.

7. This was the big surprise?!?
Day late, a gazillion dollar short. Let's just help them steal an election!! This party is NOT worth my support, my money or my vote. They sell us out all the time--in polling place and in the halls of Congress.

13. What party is not worth your support?
I guess you're talking about the Democratic Party. And I surmise that you're trying to convince people here that the Democratic Party isn't worth their time. In which case I recommend another website full of posters who might be more receptive to your sentiments re. the Democrats.

(And please explain to us your brilliant plan for dealing with the Ohio vote.)

14. The Ohio republicans refusing to act on claims of misdeeds in
the election will be used against them. It is almost as good as winning if you can cast serious doubt on the legitimacy of the president. We need to hammer the abusive right on this.

18. Do you think this is actually going to break through on the news
past Jacko's fingerprints, Kerik's crash and burn, and Scott Peterson? Oh, yeah, I forgot...endless stories on how studly * is since he has such a stellar physical.

No one is paying attention! Earlier support from our wonderful leaders in DC would have been helpful in drawing attention to extent of the fraud against voters.

15. call the Oh governor's office NOW....

Congressional Democrats sent a letter to Republican Gov. Bob Taft on Monday, asking him to delay the Electoral College vote or at least consider the results unofficial until the disputes are resolved.

Contact Governor Taft
Phone 614-466-3555 or 614-644-HELP

After you talk to that person, who is keeping a log, ask to be transferred to Mr. Blackwell's office, the Secreatary of STate

THEY ARE KEEPING LOGS: DO THIS

19. Am I in a time warp or something? I could have sworn that
an hour ago I watched Taft charge the Ohio electoral college to make certain that the voted */Cheney, introduces Blackwell (who did the same), and then after 20 votes for */Cheney were counted, the delegates broke into applause. It is done with.

20. Don't quote me on this, but from what I've heard, the Repuketards could
appeal the verdict and take it to the Supreme Court.

21. Arnebeck's challenge CONTINUES: EC delay was an outrigger request
The suit asks the SC of ohio to review the election.. that is the core... and it appears to be continuing as a suit.

Rallys needed to let the judges know that support exists for a ruling in dem favor.

"Judges do look out the window at what is happening"

anyone know the quote's source?
