Bush Rating at Two Year Low
Edited on Wed Sep-10-03 11:08 AM by doxieone
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ibd/20030910/bs_ibd_ibd/2003910general

All three of the Presidential Leadership Index's components fell in September.

-Bush's presidential favorability rating dropped 2.4 points to 54.0.

-His job approval rating dived 5.8 points, or 10.1%, to 51.9.

-His leadership rating dipped 3.8 points to 55.9.

The favorability and leadership ratings, like the overall index, are post-9-11 lows for Bush.

The job approval rating is the worst of his presidency.

13. I won't say what that graph looks like
Let's just say that a crazy GOPer could look at that graph and be convinced that Clinton's privates are to blame.

14. It looks like a Christmas Tree fallen over...
and all the bulbs are smashed to bits and half of the toys are crushed and the lights are probably shorting out and will cause the house to burn down and the children will be on the street in the cold with only what they are wearing....

Welcome to Dick Cheney's America.

2. Did you notice that whites, men, and young adults
give Bush his highest ratings?

I have championed the rights of minorities all of my life, and we must not take minorities for granted. But we must also give white men who are only slightly stupid (think Michael Moore)a reason to vote for our candidate. If Dean or Clark or another Democratic candidate can make Bush look like the wimp he is, Bush will lose some of the white male votes that we need to win.

4. "But we must give white men a reason to vote"
when they lose their job, get their health
insurance canceled, can't get a decent education
for their children and lose a relative to
Iraq they just might think it has something
to do with AWOL being in power.

5. Could someone explain why young adults rate Bush the highest?
I can't figure that one out. But I am glad seniors give Bush the lowest ratings because they vote in large numbers.

6. Maybe because he "talks TOUGH"?
Edited on Wed Sep-10-03 12:43 PM by BiggJawn
And I get the immpression that's important to college-age guys, that we have a "tough" President who "don't take no shit offa nobody" (so long as he has young men to throw into the fight) I have several student workers in my shop, and with few exceptions, they're all ReTHUGS (or think they are).

Got in a discussion with one yesterday, he asked "so, where would you live if you could live anywhere, France?"

I told him "No, I like it right here just fine, even though I'd like to visit France."

"But, I thought you hated America?"

Asked him what gave him that crazy idea. He said that since I didn't like Bush, he thought I hated America and wanted to live in France.

I told him "Wait until you have kids, then I think you'll understand what I'm about to tell you. I love this country. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I have a daughter. I love her dearly, but has she always made me happy? Hell no, she went through her "Hot Topic/Marilynn Manson" phase and was your typical moody teen girl. But I love her dearly. It's the same thing with America. I'm not always happy with what my country does in the world, and I think it's at a kegger party right now and I'm the one who's gonna have to hold it's head while it pukes it's guts up, and that pisses me off to no end. But I STILL love my country and wouldn't want to live anyplace else. You need to study your history more and watch FOX news less. Numerous American Statesmen, including Teddy Roosevelt, have said that it's our DUTY as Americans to question and challenge our leadership. in fact, I tend to think that it's most un-patriotic to just go along quietly and agree with some shill on the TV who tells you to "get behind the President because that's what GOOD Murkans do! And another thing. Bush is NOT america, and America is NOT Bush. I can love one and dislike the other. You can too."

I think I shorted out his brain. hope he didn't have a test that day...

18. Thanks
for shedding some light on that. I can't believe people equate criticism of Bush with hating America. How simple-minded and misguided.

7. Because they are young and idealistic, and probably raised by
right-wing parents. Ten years ago they probably still had "action figures" in their rooms. Think about it.

3. now I'm dancing...
Every damn poll shows the Monkey in the extremely low
fifties heading down into the fourties. Soon, even
the Gallup and Fox polls will have to pull down from
their 59% shelf.

will be when they no longer even BOTHER to keep track of MF's approval numbers because he's become -- as WhistleAss himself would say -- "irrelevant."
