6. Assuming there really is no |
|
Kerry plans to "seize the presidency". Just assuming, please. The flight to irrelevance will be marked by thoughtful pageantry of just this sort, based on old discredited models of leadership that now characterize the stealth Democrat as someone who sets his goals aloof from the radical mess the hoi poloi are really in.
Trying to puzzle some way to retain leadership while "moving on" and beckoning the deserted election protesters to follow where they never would dream of going(into a wilderness leading to more wildernesses), Kerry may begin to find himself very lonely.
Clinton commanded crowds who remembered his presidency and respected his personage. No Repug can show their mug in any fashion similar to that. To do that though- you have to be president first, not just the elected President who found some way not to have to actually serve.
We are planning our trips to the cities and capitals, to the journals and networks, to the streets and voting precincts- to build something that apparently was never quite there to begin with. Kerry won't be able to get Pakistan to get rid of its nukes, nor his voters to give up their fight for democracy. Somehow people know where their power lies- and who to take seriously. It's not hard to figure out really, but we would be terribly impressed if some leader of the people ever got on message for once when it mattered.

8. Curiously he's going the week AFTER the Electoral Confirmation. |
|
If he was going the week before, I'd say yes he's planning for defeat. But given that it is the week after Electoral Confirmation, I'll hold my judgment on 'reading tea leaves.'
