Senators Grill Wolfowitz on Iraq Request
WASHINGTON -- Democratic and Republican senators Tuesday sharply questioned a main architect of the Iraq war, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, about President Bush's emergency request for $87 billion for Iraq and Afghanistan.

The senators said that Wolfowitz and other top administration officials have misled Congress about the cost of restoring stability and security in Iraq and rebuilding the war-damaged nation.

Declaring that Congress should not give the president a blank check to finance postwar activities, senators reminded Wolfowitz that Congress handed the administration $80 billion just five months ago.

Wolfowitz is thinking: "It's demeaning enough to even be called in to explain myself to these proto-literate politicians. Scum. Idiots. The products of public education! Gad. Then I got to listen them drone on and on telling ME (imagine!) that I had miscalculated or that I (Jesus!) haven't seen the future clearly. I can't wait till W.'s second term. Got him convinced to suspend all these hearing and send Congress home for the duration. . . . which will be just as long as I say it'll be. Shit. I'll have these f*ckers publically flogged. Yeah, that's it."

3. Big deal, they made him squirm for an hour
But are they actually going to hold this administration accountable? Or will they just shrug, "Ah, we gave him hell; they know not to mess with us anymore," and then vote the appropriation anyway? Will there be any strings attached? Any reporting required? On oath?

If there's no accountability, these bloodthirsty turds will take the dough and laugh themselves sick all the way to the Halliburton deposit window.

6. No, they won't just shrug - IF
EVERYBODY here, and their friends, call their senators and congresspeople and yell and scream - "NOT ONE MORE DIME! BRING THEM HOME NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Congress will do the right thing if enough of us exhort them to do so. If they think we don't give a shit, they won't either.

Check www.congress.org - click on the directory part and you can get the local/Washington numbers for EVERYBODY on Capitol Hill. EVERYBODY. I think you can also post email messages there, for all to read.

DO IT! Now that some of 'em are showing spine, let's keep 'em stiffened!

9. Yeah he caught 8 minutes of hell from each Democrat
They only had about 8 minutes each(!?) to ask him stuff.

Who the fudge made up the committee rules that limits "debate" to 8 minutes? Probably the folks with the Majority, huh?

4. "Congress handed the administration $80 billion just 5 months ago"
and every cent of it should be accounted for before they get another dime. And they shouldn't get another dime unless they can account for every CENT of it!

5. Wolfy…a little man with some big inconsistencies….
<http://www.nola.com/news/t-p/index.ssf?/base/news-2/106308511847290.xml>

Before the war began, Deputy Secretary Paul Wolfowitz said that Iraq was "swimming on a sea of oil." He was one of many predicting that the war would not only be quick, but cheap.

<http://abcnews.go.com/wire/Politics/ap20030909_1305.html>

Wolfowitz said that before the war, "no one tried to predict the future"
"No one said we would know anything other than this would be very bloody, it could be very long and by implication it could be very expensive," he said.

7. Has anyone else noticed
this man's the most unappealing of the whole bunch? He's got thick lips and big ears which stick out, and the make him look strangely familiar with a chimpanzee.

(Sorry chimps, I didn't mean to insult you like that)

8. Count on Warner for some fine toadying:
In support of the president, Sen. John Warner, R-Va., the Armed Services Committee chairman, urged senators to provide the money now and leave the analysis of what went wrong until later.

Isn't that a brilliant idea? The Bushies hate accountability, man do they hate it. Oh boy, things are great when the adults are in charge.
