Lieberman stays mum on possible Cabinet post discussions (CNN Wrong?)

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman said Wednesday that he is not seeking a job in President Bush's Cabinet, but he would not deny that he had been approached by the administration.

In a carefully worded interview with The Associated Press, the Connecticut Democrat said, "If anybody asked me to serve, I would be duty-bound to consider it."

But when asked if he had been approached by the Bush administration about a Cabinet post _ such as secretary of Homeland Security _ Lieberman would only say, "I keep private conversations private."

A report by CNN suggested that Lieberman had turned down overtures from the White House on both the homeland security and U.N. jobs.

Sounds like the first offer from the Bush administration wasn't enough to me. This is a tactic that you see politicians and celeberties use all the time to get more benefits or $$$ in their bargining deals. Deny everything yet say you'd have to think about it.
