Five charged with taking hostages (in Vermont!)
http://www.boston.com/dailynews/351/region/Five_charged_with_taking_hosta:.shtml

Four New Yorkers and a Massachusetts teenager are facing charges that they held five people hostage at gunpoint for up to 10 hours.

The five suspects fled the home on Town Farm Road around 9 p.m. Tuesday. One of the hostages had secretly called police, court records said.

Two suspects were arrested as they hid in the woods near the home and three others were tracked down about two hours later by police dogs.

''Their alleged purpose for coming to the state of Vermont was to hold and intimidate people in that house,'' Rutland County Deputy State's Attorney Peter Neary said Wednesday in court documents. ''Threats of death were made to all the individuals during their time of confinement.''
