2. How come nobody in the Bush admin. never resigns?
It's like they're never held accountable. Rumsfeld, Rice, Wolfowitz should be in danger of losing their jobs. In any other admin. they's probably already be gone.

3. Oops
That should say: How come nobody in the Bush admin. ever resigns? (I mean foreign policy people - I'm not talking about Christie Whitman or Ari Fleischer).

4. One of the staples of this administration is supreme arrogance
Much of being arrogant is believing that you are right to the exclusion of evidence to the contrary. Firing them would be admitting that * was wrong. Not going to happen.

11. Thomas White, was that his name? was forced out
when he tried to tell the Pentagon that they should probably have a post-invasion plan in place. Now he's writing a book critical of the administration.

If Rumdum, or Condasleeza, or Werewolf were forced out, they could probably do the same thing. They probably have a huge blackmail portfolio that provides them job security.

5. He'll resign by the end of the Month .
Edited on Wed Sep-10-03 04:39 PM by bahrbearian
When you start seeing things like this you know its near ...

Analysts have said there is little chance Rumsfeld might resign. And President Bush (news - web sites)'s chief spokesman, Scott McClellan, said on Tuesday that the secretary was doing a "terrific job."

8. He won't resign
There are four principals in this admin. Cheney, Rummy, Rove and Poopy Pants.

Rummy is old buddies with Cheney, they both decide what is going to be happening in the administration. Rummy is second in command, but he is probably the defacto leader since Cheney has as many mini heart attackes as tremors on the San Andreas fault. Rove decides how to accomplish their goals. Poopy pants is the cheerleader, all he has to do is put his ugly mug on their policies and try not to mess up his speeches too badly.

Without any one of those four the administration will sink into oblivion.

Rummy will not be leaving.

6. rummy saying he serves at the pleasure of the president ....
I hope the so-called president remembers that he serves at the so-called pleasure of the people, and a lot of us are not getting a whole lot of pleasure out of his serving.

9. could you explain the yahoo rating?
It seems very few people vote on the stories. How are the votes used? Is it worth the time to vote?

13. Hi dove2..... the yahoo rating is important because the higher
the rating, then that means that story stays in the top-rated articles in Yahoo and more people will be sure to see it if it stays up towards the top.

You have to have a login and password on Yahoo to rate a story.

And welcome to DU:hi:

14. This is rich
Rumsfeld: "To the extent you are too heavy a footprint, you don't help them, you hurt them. ... To the extent they're there {US troops}, people tend to rely on them, and we don't want to create a reliance or a dependency."

We are light-years from fixing Iraq, and Rumsfeld is already worried about 25 million "welfare kings and queens." Gotta keep the peasants hungry, huh, Donny? Isn't that just a little more than a bit patronizing--particularly since we sure as shittin' ain't delivering what they're relying on us for! Typical GOP! Argh!
