Bush Looking at Cutting Domestic Spending |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-16-04 08:40 PM by rodeodance
"domestic" spending is already squeexed raw cause of all the war spending.
"http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=4&u=/ap/20041216/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_spending" Bush Looking at Cutting Domestic Spending
2 hours, 27 minutes ago
By ALAN FRAM, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - The White House is telling federal agencies to expect lean budgets next year, with congressional aides and lobbyists saying President Bush (news - web sites) appears ready to propose freezing or even slightly cutting overall domestic spending.
Targeted would be all annually approved programs except for defense and domestic security. Excluding those two would leave a part of the budget the administration estimates will total $388 billion for the fiscal year that began Oct. 1. Also excluded are automatically made payments like Social Security (news - web sites) and interest on the federal debt. ......
.....Excluding homeland security and emergencies like hurricanes, domestic spending has grown by 27 percent since Bush took office in 2001.
"I really do believe that this White House gets it," said Rep. Mike Pence (news, bio, voting record), R-Ind., a leading House conservative. ....

Government taxes, government spends. That's what government does. I refuse to take so called "deficit hawks" seriously.
I did not vote for this president or his party at any time in the last four years. I should be exempted from the effects of any spending cuts.

5. Money for warmongering - None for domestic programs |

We all knew this was coming with Bush pandering to the most wealthy and the corporate globalists.
Bushco's plan to turn this country into a military banana republic is marching on. His supporters should be proud. NOT!

Thats the 1st thing that popped into my head hwen i read it. Unlimited funds to kill brown people, nothing for the overall welfare of us as a nation.
Rather kill a buncha brown folks than say, feed the hungry, improve schools, help the elderly with medication, help us all with medical costs.
Killing brown people must be awfull fun.

In case you weren't there, go read about the second Reagan admin. '84-'88. The national debt was enormous(over $4 trillion). Between servicing the debt, tax cuts and the military build up Reagan hornswoggled through Congress there was simply no discretionary spending monies available in the budget, not to mention having to cut most social programs to the bone. That's what Pence means by "This White House gets it."
Many Sens. and Reps. threw up their hands in disgust and declined re-election over the mess Reagan had made of the federal budget. Reagan had some of his earlier tax cuts repealed things were so F'ed up. Bush 1 took the fall for it. The economy tanked and he was forced to raise taxes. And not even winning Gulf War 1 and the fall of the USSR saved his ass in '92.
God help whoever has to follow Bush 2, provided he doesn't declare himself "President For Life" if/when there is another major terrorist attack.

9. Another part of the History Lesson: |
|
This is the EXACT ROADMAP of Economic Policy that led to the downfall of the Soviet Union...I mean EXACT!
1)The ultra Wealthy & Politically Connected skimming the cream from the top with NO ACCOUNTABILITY,
2) Eliminating Social Programs and Education
3) Channeling Everything into The War Machine
4) Involvement in Foreign Quagmires sucking whatever lifeblood left in the system.
NOTE: The ultra wealthy in Russia did quite well during the collapse. The other 99% suffered, and are still suffering.

10. I think he should cut domestic spending...on museums, statues, |
|
and all the other pork barrel crap that's always tacked onto every bill that passes!
Of course that's not what he intends to cut!
I'm sure this is an attempt to fulfill the agenda Rush always talks about..."cut taxes until there's no money left to fund the socialist programs. Starve them out of existance, and let the churches and charities handle it all."

I wonder if Bushies, freepers, etc., have ever read these authors.
I can see it happenning here since W took over. Less people insured, more people in poverty, reduction of annual earnings, etc.
Their governments were busy building world empires and let their own peoples needs go to hell.

the SUV. There ya go, yer done. Nevermind actually supporting them with protection to make sure they stay alive, or health care when they get home. Nah, the ribbon's enough. What do they want, a handout.
Jokes on them twenty years from now when a few of those human time bombs go off.
I'll ask for him. Whether I get him or not will be another matter. But one thing's for sure. He knows what it means to support the veterans.

The CNN article said housing would be one of the programs cut. Maybe they're hoping all the newly homeless people will join the army to make up for the decreases in National Gaurd recruiting?
Then at least then when they get home from from the war and wind-up homeless Vets, they'll be used to it. *sighs* *shakes head*

33. Permanent tax cuts for the rich and they'll gladly take them. |
|
The Greedy Chimp is really making me despise the wealthy, I make no distinction between Dem or repub in this case. They make no sacrifices while keeping most of their money in their pockets. They don't pay for bu$hco's slaughter in Iraq and their kids don't fight there either. How many of them will refuse their tax cuts for the sake of saving some social programs? I bet not one. Buying a third vacation home in Aspen or a luxury yacht is so much more important. The greed in this Country is disgusting!

34. WWJD? Rob the needy and poor and give it to the filthy rich!!! |
|
According to Republicans, Jesus would totally approve of taking money away from the needy, sick, and poor and give it all the filthy rich and wealthy corporations. Jesus would approve of starting a complete UNNECESSARY war, killing tens of thousands of innocent children and their families.
These people make me sick. Robbing the poor, ignoring the sick and needy, killing tens of thousands of people, and destroying the environment...all in the name of God.
I hope they all burn in hell.
