Good News for the White House: Milbank Is Off the Beat. The Bad News . . .
http://www.washingtonian.com/inwashington/buzz/milbank.html

The Bush White House finally got what it has wanted for years: Dana Milbank is off the White House beat for the Washington Post. He always was very skeptical of the White House message.

The bad news for the Bushies is that Milbank will be writing a column in the Post’s front section. Prospective title is Off Message.

Moving Milbank off the front lines is part of the Post’s strategy for covering the second Bush term. The Post is changing its entire team of White House reporters. Milbank, Mike Allen, and Amy Goldstein are out; Mike Fletcher, Jim VandeHei, and Peter Baker are in.

1. Is this a good or bad thing?
It's natural for a top reporter to get a column, but who are these other guys? Do they challenge or toe the line?

5. Going back aways...when Milbank trashed Bush early on they went after
they guy...They cut him off..he dug his way back with two years of pro-chimp stuff then he cut loose about a year before the latest "Selection" then Bush "supposedly won." Milbank and alot of other reporters who laid themeselves on the line (however, tenatively) got the word from their "Corporate Media Whore Employees" that they would be "shuffled."

Those they wanted to keep like Milbank got shuffled...the worst is that the ones who wouldn't cave for a year or two under the "Emeperor"s Reign" are gone now..off into "conspiracy wonderland" on the "Internets" so Milbank's shift is not unexpected since he did "COMPROMISE" for a bit. To the Bushies "half a loaf" means medium compliance so we won't "lop off your head" but we require you to be "rotated" or "shifted" with our new "Reign." just my 2 cents...

7. Dana Milbank should leave the Post.
EZ for me to say. I like Dana. I would like to see him in a real reportorial position at a publication with more green lights and no red lights on the front porch.
