CNN: Terror Warning from State Dept.
They just read the state department warning on CNN
Issued by State Department so alert level color is still yellow. This is the text ( I used the rewind function so this is very close to actual wording read on CNN.)

The US Govt remains deeply concerned about the security of US citizens overseas, Us citizens are cautioned to maintain a high level of vigilence, to remain alert and to take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness.

We are seeing increased indications that Al Queda is preparing to strike US interests abroad. We assess that European or Eurasian locations could be venues for the next round of attacks, possibly to closely coincide with the anniversary of the September 11 attack.
We expect Al Queda to strive for new attacks that will be more devastating than the September 11 attacks, possibly involving non-conventional weapons, such as chemical or biological agents.

We also cannot rule out the potential for Al Queda to attempt a second catastrophic attack within the US. These may also involve commercial aircraft and threats to include conventional weapons, such as explosive devices and they may include facilities where American citizens and other foreigners congregate or visit including residental areas, clubs, schools, places of worship, hotels, outdoor recreation events, or resorts and beaches. Americans should remain at a heightened state of personal security awareness.

8. The Real Code Red...
Wanna bet the "Tear Alert" system is tied to WhistleAss' popularity rating? Especially today when people think about the jobs, family members, savings, hope and dreams they had two years ago.

Damn, with that warning...why don't we all just stay home and watch Faux News?

Anyone care to wager the alert will be Orange or higher on Election, Day 2004?

11. Actual code RED would mean
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/03/20020312-5.html

Severe Condition (Red). A Severe Condition reflects a severe risk of terrorist attacks. Under most circumstances, the Protective Measures for a Severe Condition are not intended to be sustained for substantial periods of time. In addition to the Protective Measures in the previous Threat Conditions, Federal departments and agencies also should consider the following general measures in addition to the agency-specific Protective Measures that they will develop and implement:
Increasing or redirecting personnel to address critical emergency needs;
Assigning emergency response personnel and pre-positioning and mobilizing specially trained teams or resources;
Monitoring, redirecting, or constraining transportation systems; and
Closing public and government facilities.
Comment and Review Periods

http://www.southjerseynews.com/issues/march/m031603e.htm

If the nation escalates to "red alert," which is the highest in the color-coded readiness against terror, you will be assumed by authorities to be the enemy if you so much as venture outside your home, the state's anti-terror czar says.

"This state is on top of it," said Sid Caspersen, New Jersey's director of the office of counter-terrorism.

A red alert would also tear away virtually all personal freedoms to move about and associate.

"Red means all noncritical functions cease," Caspersen said. "Noncritical would be almost all businesses, except health-related."

"The state police and the emergency management people would take control over the highways.

"You literally are staying home, is what happens, unless you are required to be out. No different than if you had a state of emergency with a snowstorm."

13. IOW...
yellow keeps everybody in a general state of mild apprehension and serves their purposes.

Red means they know what's going to happen, but can't do anythng about it.

And everyone walks around just kinda blue.

(They spent HOW much time coming up with this?)

15. So Much For The Party Of "Smaller Government"
The Homeland Dept. doesn't have to qualify its "Tear" warning changes other than the whim of Tom Ridge (and the RNC). That's what is most un-nerving as I'm certain it has and will continue to be used to keep the sheep in fear and deflect any criticism of this regime's actions.

I found it so absurd when there was a hightened alert earlier this year they were parking SAM missles on the Mall. Sheesh, it's not as though Al Queda has an Air Force other than our own planes and the sophistication of early kindergarten, but they're damn effective.

And that's the real problem...Al Queda beat us with our own systems and they'll do it again and again. The major problem is labelling Al Queda as some nation-state. It isn't...and there appears to be no centralized organization either. This regime doesn't get it, nor wants to. Scaring the sheep is all they want.

10. The shame of it is
that even a broken clock is right at least twice a day.

So far, their track record for predicting attacks is about zero. Since 9-11 there have been a fair number of 'major' attacks and smaller ones almost every day. The only time they raise the alerts has been when they are in trouble politically and need a distraction. Isn't it a crime when the pResident mind fucks a whole country? Oh, I forgot, it's only a crime if President gets a bj.

34. It does I use linux and mozilla
You would need to be able to configure your
browsers string. Konquerer allows this but
mozilla doesn't as far as I know.

The best way to fix this would be by using
a proxie for web surfing but in the end hiding
your browser and system does little when your
ip is still visable.

Some anon-web proxy services may still exist
but you shift the "trust" to the person running
them and your websurfing may get "carnivored"
at your isp anyway.

Face it the internet is like a public street
and anything you do is visable.
