Berlusconi Absolves Mussolini in Quote (Mu never killed, only exiled)
ROME -- Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi was quoted Thursday as saying that Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini never killed anyone and only sent people away on vacations in internal exile, a claim that greatly distressed Jewish leaders.

Berlusconi's party was quick to say that the quote had not yet been confirmed.

The remarks appeared in the local Voce di Rimini newspaper, following an interview with two journalists, one of whom works for London's The Spectator and one of whom works also for the local Italian paper.

The comment reportedly came during a discussion of Saddam Hussein's dictatorship, which brought up Italy's experience with a tyrannical leader. Mussolini ruled Italy from 1922 until his ouster in 1943.

"Mussolini never killed anyone. Mussolini used to send people on vacation in internal exile," Berlusconi was quoted as saying.

more.

1. The fascist is right.
Like Hitler Mussolini was a coward that had others do the killing for him.

You can't expect your fearless leader to get his hands dirty.
Can you?

Hey trolls! Wouldn't you agree with that? Doesn't fascist in training Emperor Chimpy employ this on a daily basis in EYE-Wrack?

Our world is indeed turning into shit.

...happens every generation or so.

3. A strange obtuse quote....
Neither Hitler nor Mussolini personally killed anyone...unless you count Geli Raubal Hitler's niece and the evidence points to Himmler doing the deed last I heard.

As for Mussolini, sure all those ill-armed-ill trained Ethiopians his air force gassed strafed and blew up were "exiled" to the throne of the almighty...
And for the record the Italians gave up plenty of jews to the death camps during the war all with Il Duce's connivance.

8. What Zolok said.
"Mu" was one of the original Big Three Fascisti, along with Hitler and Franco. Here's today's troika:

Ronald "Pruneface" Reagan.
George "Herber Hoover" Bush.
George "Smirko McCokespoon" Bush.

Hope they are the last of this ill bred line.

6. Sounds about right for the Age of Totalitarianism
Of course, we just started out on this course and so these are just the first few snowflakes prior to the avalanche.

Of course Berlusconi would be sympathetic to Mussolini. I'll bet there is a lot of private sympathy for Hitler and Mussolini in the Amerikan Imperial Palace.
