Destroyed Fallujah 'Uninhabitable',
a report by Samir Haddad & Mazen Ghazi
U.N. Observer & International Report

Iraq’s Association of Muslim Scholars (AMS) has ruled out the return of Fallujah evacuees to their homes during the coming days, dismissing statements by the interim government, due to wide scale destruction caused by the US military campaign that rendered the city “uninhabitable”.

A statement issued Monday, December 20, by the interim Iraqi government, said that displaced Iraqis will start returning Thursday, December 23, to Fallujah, which was virtually abandoned by its residents ahead of last month's massive US assault to regain control of the city from resistance fighters.

Most of Fallujah homes were flattened by the US air and ground attacks.

Lastly, it appears an additional declared tactical/
political objective of the American Military's task was to engage
in a "fight of good versus evil". Additionally it
appears (presumably per their intelligence reports) that
the mission also was to "destroy" "Satan" since it appears
that "he lives in Fallujah"

On the face of it, it appears as if none of these tactical/
military objectives have been met, including, it appears,
the desire to presumably meet Mr Satan, resident of
Fallujah.

I would be very surprised if this entire Iraq travesty were not a concerted effort to "bring about Armageddon." They've been talking about the signs of the "end times" with self-righteous glee for YEARS. They WANT it to happen, because that means they will soon get their reward. Fundamentalist Christianity is a death cult; they just don't get any virgins afterward. That's why I think people should be VERY afraid of the stranglehold these freaks have on our government.

I am beginning to believe that you are right. I know some people think that Bush's Christianity is juat a cover for his utterly cynical crony capitalism, but I think he genuinely believes that he is a Christian, despite his decidedly unchristian policies and actions. It seems to me that the only way out of this straightforward march towards ever more death and destruction is to say loudly and clearly that what we are doing is morally indefensible, and that their version of christianity, which was only dreamed-up in the 19th century is heretical!!!

Edited on Thu Dec-23-04 06:04 AM by lebkuchen
If you're the one burning, and you live through it, the pain lasts a lifetime.

The Bush administration has changed the thickening agent your article mentions, and so doesn't call it "napalm" anymore but "Mark 77."

The US has already admitted that it used napalm during the siege of Baghdad. The truth was reluctantly confirmed by the Pentagon after news reports corroborated the evidence. The military has tried to conceal the truth by saying that there is a distinction between its new weapon and “traditional napalm”. The “improved” product carries the Pentagon moniker “Mark 77 firebombs” and uses jet fuel to “decrease environmental damage”. The fact that military planner’s even considered “environmental damage” while developing the tools for incinerating human beings, gives us some insight into the deep vein of cynicism that permeates their ranks.

41. Question?
Why has not one Western media house interviewed the insurgents. Afterall, aren't they building democracy in Iraq? Are they any different than the French resistance movement?

How come we can't hear/read their side if we don't search for it on the net or in media from one of the countries that did not support the war.
Why can't we hear from ordinary Iraqi's from the embedded journalists. Oh yes, this democracy has nothing to do with ordinary Iraqis.
Strangely these same 'impression managers' on the networks will report about state run radio stations elsewhere. What we ae hearing is a complete lie. Way more people died yesterday than they are claiming. Why do you think Rummy looked so shell-shocked.

It is all going to come out.

60. Not surprising really ...
... it's hard to answer when you're dead ...

Fallujah has become a charnel house, nothing but dead bodies and
destruction. Ever wonder why the satellite photos of Fallujah have
been suppressed since the middle of November? Ever wonder why the
Red Cross & Red Crescent have been prevented from entering the city?

This wasn't merely to stop the embarrassment from the sight of the
world's most powerful Marines getting their arses kicked around by
the Iraqi Resistance (for the third time).

This was because the world cannot be allowed to see the gross, inhuman
war crime that has been committed by the American forces (Army, Air
Force, Marines) on the orders of the American government in the name
of the American people.

If the truth comes out before martial law is imposed, even some of
the most stupid, rabidly xenophobic Republicans would come to their
senses and realise what they have done (and what they need to do).

The news blackout will persist until well after the next "terrorist"
attack. The mainstream media will concentrate on trumpeting the
party line (fear/terror/spend/pray) while all of the pieces are
quietly manoeuvred in the shadows across the world.

That city has been attacked twice so far in the past year, and both attacks killed hundreds of innocent people and wreaked terrible devastation.

The excuses given are false. The attacks by fighters opposed to the occupation have not ceased, or even been considerably reduced. The only real result has been slaughtered innocents and smashed houses.

58. It's actually a Rovian vote suppression scheme
If they don't have homes or even a city, they don't have an address, so they can't register to vote in the "election." Even if they show up to vote, all the precincts will vote in the same pile of rubble and they'll have to find the right table or their votes won't be counted. 'Course there will only be one Diebold machine for each area of town and after they wait in line for a few days to get to that machine, a few strafing runs should discourage the ones who are left. Waste of time anyhow--the machines are already set with the number of votes our CIA stooge wants from each part of town anyway.

We had to destroy Fallujah in order to save it.

Abu Ghurayb, Isma‘il Fayyad, told a correspondent for

again.”
