Firefight in Iraq; 3 U.S. Vehicles Burned
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030911/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_fallujah_firefight&cid=540&ncid=1480

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A big firefight broke out Thursday about 60 miles west of Baghdad, and witnesses said there were U.S. casualties. The U.S. military said it could not immediately confirm the incident.

Kanaan Ali Ibrahim, a witness, said the convoy was moving from Habaniya to Ramadi when Iraqi "mujahedeen" ambushed it with rocket-propelled grenades.

He said he believed U.S. soldiers were killed and wounded.

A small crowd gathered at the scene of the attack and began shouting jubilantly "Allahu Akbar," or God is great, and "Oh, Iraq, we sacrifice our lives and blood for you."

Yesterday it was six dead soldiers and lightly reported here in the US. Now we got another one going that they won't confirm.

6. I don't think that report was accurate
This site - http://lunaville.org/warcasualties/Summary.aspx - has been generally reliable and they didn't have six dead yesterday.

22 attacks in the same 24 hour period? I think the problem is that some just don't want to face the truth? What are they attacking these soldiers with? Spit balls maybe? If it was anything, I would suggest that it was probably more than 6 dead. Don

The latest strikes against US forces came after military authorities recorded 22 attacks over a 24-hour period stretching from Tuesday into Wednesday.

3. Yeah, WTF?!! Did they quit reporting on the dead soldiers?
I didn't hear one thing about those six dead soldiers in the media, not one mention. That's the way to support the troops, forget about them.

It's time for a revolution, The media has become a willing accomplice to a fascist regime. And when the revolution comes, I want to be on the committee that hangs the bastard traitors from lamposts in the streets.

10. I think they have.
As difficult as it may be,I think that the rolls of dead and wounded are being jived to hide the truth. They don't think about lying>>> Hey It was'nt me this time. I think its really sick.

9. Is this the same firefight...
...as the one in Fallujah or is it a different firefight?

It's so hard to keep track.

12. My hypothesis is...
The "six dead" from yesterday included CIA agents and those dead would not be reported by CENTCOM.

The attack in Irbil was on a "safehouse" probably sheltering Iraqis who are collaborating or CIA agents.
