Halliburton Told to Reinstate Insurance (Retiree Health Benefits)
Halliburton Told to Reinstate Insurance

HOUSTON - A judge ordered Halliburton Co. to reinstate health insurance for retirees of its former Dresser Inc. unit, ruling the company couldn't modify the health plans to eliminate the benefits.

Halliburton said Wednesday it disagrees with the decision by District Court Judge Lynn Hughes in the Southern District of Texas and is considering all options, including appeal.

The oil and gas services company said it will take a charge of up to $13 million in the fourth quarter for current and future retiree medical costs.

More than a year ago, Halliburton sought to change its medical plans for all retired employees to achieve parity.

2. Halliburton disagrees.
It thinks it should be able to run roughshod over anyone it wants to.

5. A Republican Voter Responds In Anger to Court's Ruling.
"Hey, what do workers expect anyway? These pesky, goddamned liberals should butt out of the affairs of good businesses like that of Halliburton. After all, a corporation's gotta do what a corporation's gotta do, right? And Halliburton is doing such a fine job in Iraq "supporting our troops". Why, this judge is probably a stinking communist anyway. This country is in a crisis! Like President Bush says, we gotta get more good conservative judges to replace these damned "activist" judges! And what a bunch of crybabies these retirees are! Just who in the hell do they actually think that they are? These pathetic retirees don't sound very patriotic to me filing lawsuits while our nation is at war! Our soldiers are dying in Iraq and they are filing lawsuits like a bunch of pansies! What a bunch of traitors these retirees are! They must really hate America, if you ask me. I bet they don't even believe in God!" ---- Republican Voter.

6. Good one.
Might add, if these GD liberal retirees need living money, they can go to Iraq and do something to earn a living, like die for your country. They need to quit being victims and do something.
