Iraq Security Sweep Captures 600 Insurgents, U.S. Military Says
Dec. 23 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. and Iraqi forces are holding about 600 suspected insurgents captured in security operations south of the capital, Baghdad, in the past five months, the U.S. military said.

``To date, more than 850 suspected insurgents have been detained,'' the U.S. military said in an e-mailed statement today. ``Of those, nearly 600 have been sent to prison.''

The U.S. military effort in Iraq will focus on pacifying Mosul and the cities of Ramadi and Fallujah in the west and central regions before the elections scheduled for Jan. 30, Air Force General Richard Myers, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, said yesterday at a briefing in Washington.

The threat of attacks may make Iraqis too afraid to participate in the poll, U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said at the briefing.

``Intimidation is the kind of thing that can prevent people from providing intelligence, that can prevent people from running for office, that can prevent people from stepping forward to vote,'' Rumsfeld said.

4. They pacified Fallujah by turning it into a depopulated moonscape.
More of that pacifying and there won't be anyone left to vote in their bogus elections.

the U.S. military has hired ex-Enron accountants to manage the accurate counting of insurgents required for reporting to the doubting American public.

11. Let me correct that: 600 people mix of freedom fighters and civilians.
Besides, 600 people in 5 months isn't a lot. I'm sure New York has more criminals than that in a month. Iraq is 3 times more populated as well, and has a hell of a lot more anti-American sentiment.

What are we going to do imprison the whole country of Iraq population and call them insurgents???

Bush and the Pentagon don't understand to be really good Opressors
its so much less trouble if you Genocide.

having a Prison Population takes time money and manpower of which the US just doesn't have!!!

13. Absolutely, and I am reminded of the words of Condi Rice:
From October 3, 2004 with Volf Blitzer... http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0410/03/le.01.html

<snip>

RICE: We have broken up 75 percent of the al Qaeda known leadership. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia fully...

BLITZER: Well, when you say 75 percent, of how many leaders are we talking -- 75 percent of a quantity of what? 30, 25?

RICE: Of its known leadership.

BLITZER: But how many...

RICE: I would suspect that that's in the tens to hundreds -- tens to 100.
=======================================================================
Our next Secretary of State will pursue a policy of oppression of millions while proclaiming the success of an operation that so far has wasted hundreds of billions of borrowed dollars to round up a number of "terrorists" between "tens to 100" humans who had nothing to do with the attacks of September 11, 2001 and will stop at nothing to spend our nation into permanent third-world status.

Dammit, this is just wrong.

14. The Dems will approve of her by 99%
This is the person that said nobody would have guessed that airplnes would be used to crash into buildings. Iraq could send nukes to the US and there would be a mushroom cloud over U.S. cities. This is the person that lied in front of the 911 Commission. I have such admiration for her and the Dems. BULSHIT!!!!

15. I call bullshit. They have ZERO credibility left. They are smarter than
"Bahgdad Bob", but no less willing to lie.

They did it over the begin of the Fallujah assault, and the psy-ops debate has been in the news lately. Don't think they're not already utilizing the psy-ops crap, they just want to make it official.
