Puerto Rican 4th ID soldier killed in Iraq
December 28, 2004
A Fort Hood soldier from Puerto Rico was killed after a roadside bomb exploded as his vehicle passed.

Specialist Jose Rivera Serrano died in the attack Monday in Baghdad. He became the 23rd person from the U.S. Caribbean territory to die in action in Iraq and Afghanistan. Rivera was assigned to B Company of the 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood.

The Army says Rivera will be returned to Puerto Rico for burial.
