1. Danke!
"How a first evaluation of the data from the global satellite-based government inspection department measurement net of the international government inspection department services (IGS) at astronomical Institut of the University of Berne shows, the heavy sea-quake in the Indian ocean shifted the position of the erdachse in relation to its target position approximately 8 centimeters. This might be the largest shift since the routine monitoring of the earth rotation by means of that global Positioning system (government inspection department, 1992) which an individual event be attributed can. Provisional results show besides that a government inspection department measuring station shifted itself in Singapore approximately 2 centimeters."

3. Amazing. It's somewhat related to this other DU thread

We rarely receive reminders like this that we are riding on a planet through space, and that nothing is changeless.

6. Well, there might be some melting involved

And a little freezing. It seems like every month or so there is 'something' that changes in this world.

My theory is that if the earth is expanding, even a little bit, as it warms (warm things expand) there will be more earthquakes, volcanoes, etc.

7. But earth axis always shifts every 26000 years
so... I guess this would be a push.

8. "Sollposition" is one of those really cool german words....
The Erdachse sucks, she's not, where we have told her to be. We have to genetically modify this fu**ing Erdachse. Or the Erdachse should watch Fox-TV for two years, until she's in her "Sollposition".
Und diese Schweizer mit Ihrer blöden Perfektion. Kauft irgendwer noch deren Uhren?

10. Or, in Ratherese:
"Whoooeee, that ol' Earth was a-bouncin' like the needle of the speedometer on a moonshiner's '57 Chevy trying to outrun the sheriff on a dirt road at midnight. Them good ol' boys sure can drive."
