al-Qaida Video Shows Police Execution
al-Qaida Video Shows Police Execution
By RAWYA RAGEH, Associated Press Writer

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Al-Qaida's arm in Iraq released a video Saturday showing its militants lining up five captured Iraqi security officers and executing them in the street, one of a string of recent attacks claimed by the group led by terror boss Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

A statement posted on an Islamist Web site along with the video denounced the five men as "American dogs," and the group warned other Iraqis they would meet the same fate if they join the security forces loyal to the government of Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, seen as collaborators with the U.S. military.

In the video, one of the prisoners identified himself as Lt. Bashar Latif Jassim and said his mission was to "prevent terrorists from entering Iraq."

When asked by one his captors — who did not appear on camera — who the terrorists are, Jassim said: "Those who sabotage the country."

1. I think those police need to start fighting back.
When these guys capture them, they can't just let them kill them.

4. To live under Saddam the Shia had to be passive. So they run & hide.
Old habits die very slowly. This is why IMO the 20% Sunnis would be very apt to regain control over the 60% Shia in a civil war. This is why the Shia love the idea of voting themselves into power and the Sunni think it stinks. Both sides must be on the same page for the new government that Bush promised to have any chance of working. This is why we might as well leave now and let them fight it out.

3. Those "Islamicist websites"
have really interesting pedigrees
and they almost NEVER turn up as being owned or managed or hosted
by anyone who has ever entered a mosque.

5. ya know......
when you invade a country and control it's people, this kind of horrible stuff happens, as one side, who feels they are being controlled, attacks the other side who are helping the invading country... it's as if this administration gets off at night when they read what they are causing to happen by lying to the public and getting over 1000 dead Americans, and 100,000 middle easterners slaughtered by their game of Risk...
