A Modesto teenager serving in the Army was killed Wednesday when a series of suicide bombs exploded in Iraq.
Oscar Sanchez, a 19-year-old private first class, is the second Modestan to die during the war in Iraq. The attack that killed Sanchez in Mosul came two days after the funeral for Modesto Marine Cpl. Michael Anderson Jr., 21

Tragedy first struck Sanchez at age 11, at a mobile home on Latimer Avenue where part of his family still lives.

His mother's boyfriend shot her to death in the carport in a murder-suicide, family members said. Sanchez was home at the time, said his brother's fiancée, Linda Garza, 20, who now lives there with him.

"His father raised him. He spoiled him. He tried to give him what he wanted. The shoes, the clothes, the skateboard," she said, but he wanted a better life. "He wanted to get a good job. To go to college. That was one of the reasons he went (into the Army) I think. Before he left, we said at least come back with one leg.

1. Teen
Breaks my heart.

I propose a New Rule: No one can make a war unless they go fight it themselves.

4. To the fundies and fascists who say
" Well 1300 are dead in Iraq that many are murdered in NY, Chicago...every year"

I say..a lot of these kids in Iraq were trying to go to college and bush not only didn't let them do that..he snuffed out their lives, too.

The Carlyle Candidate has the blood of these kids are on his hands.

The unfortunates who are murdered every year have their blood on no ones' hands but the person who did it.

5. People who say such things ...
... demonstrate that moral bankruptcy correlates with a rock-hard stupidity that no education system can overcome. Equating rates of killing in populations ten times larger and reducing to nothing the coincident slaughter of innocent Iraqi civilians as a hyper-rationalization in favor of death and oppression signals a human corruption beyond comprehension.

10. Another death attributable to lack of access to college:
To go to college. That was one of the reasons he went (into the Army) I think.

Someone tell me that slashing the Pell Grants isn't part of Bunnypant's scheme to build his army of death.

Equals a way out---"We can't have those Darkies getting Edumucated", shouted the CHIMP as he drank his N/A champagne.
