Hutton silent over Hoon recall
Lord Hutton failed to end speculation over whether Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon will face another grilling at the inquiry into the death of David Kelly.

The law lord announced the witnesses called to give evidence on Monday but left pundits guessing whether key figures like Mr Hoon, outgoing No10 director of communications, Alastair Campbell, and BBC reporter Andrew Gilligan would be recalled.

The BBC's director general Greg Dyke will give evidence on Monday - the first day of the second phase of the inquiry - as will officials from the Defence Intelligence Staff (DIS).

But no other witnesses for the second phase of the inquiry were expected to be named until the hearing restarts, when counsel to the inquiry, James Dingemans QC, will reveal the names.

Mr Hoon was widely expected to be recalled to face more questions about his involvement in the decision to name Dr Kelly as the probable source for Mr Gilligan's report, which claimed the Government "sexed up" its dossier on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.
