Enron bankruptcy was most spectacular
HOUSTON — It was one of the more spectacular corporate bankruptcies ever: Enron Corp., once the seventh-largest company in the country, felled by intricate and illegal accounting tricks.
But as the disgraced company limped toward Chapter 11 closure in 2004, the second-largest bankruptcy in history behind WorldCom Inc. seemed almost secondary — the public's focus shifted to criminal proceedings against Enron founder Kenneth Lay and former CEO Jeffrey Skilling. Both were indicted this past year, pleading innocent to charges that include conspiracy and fraud, and are awaiting trial.
The bankruptcy case reduced the former energy trading conglomerate first to an operator of pipelines and power plants, and ultimately to a holding company responsible for paying off debts.

1. I'm sticking by my story......
Enron was a money-laundering front company for the Bush Family Takeover. After the BFEE World Domination came into power, there was no use for the mere packaging.... after all, Bush has looted the National Treasury as Priority One.

Well, it would have been OK if the Front (Enron) could have continued, but there was no there there. After it lost its usefulness, it had no use because it did nothing except bullshit money laundering and bullshit money scamming.

Like so many Front Companies, Enron didn't actually produce much of anything as far as I've been able to see. What the hell is an "energy trading conglomerate" anyway? The entire company was built on "deals." Once the Big Deal was made, "Enron" was no longer needed.

Too Bad for California. To Bad for the United States of America.

The BFEE is now into War Profiteering. Too Bad for the Entire Planet.

which just happens to have a joint venture with Halliburton; and, currently profitting quite nicely via Fed contracts as a company headquartered in Bermuda ... likely payback for whatever it did after being hired by Katherine Harris to help FL's voter base system for 2002/2004 post-Choice Point ...

how long did enron stay on the table of the then Joe Lieberman-chaired Gov't Affairs committee?

3. Ding ding ding ding ding!!!!
The real hot potato! If anything would ever bring down Bush* and revive America from her demise, it would be the Enron Scandal.

Notice this is not national news. It's just a filler piece in a local rag. Though it's general knowledge, it's almost never discussed.

Enron is just a bad word. But, nobody really knows why.
