Edited on Tue Jan-04-05 05:22 AM by bluestateguy
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A U.S. Marine was killed in action in al-Anbar province west of Baghdad on Tuesday, the U.S. military said.

The military statement gave no further details. Anbar province includes the restive cities of Falluja, where U.S. forces launched a major assault in November to drive out insurgents, and Ramadi.

1. Is this LBN? Supposed to link to headline...link does not work.
By the way, 160,000 were killed in SE Asia last week. They were minding their own business...

Military says five Americans killed in Iraq attacks

BAGHDAD, Iraq The U-S military says five Americans are dead in attacks in Iraq.

A military statement says a roadside bombing killed three soldiers today in Baghdad. The blast came near midday and also wounded two soldiers

The military says another roadside bombing north of Baghdad killed a soldier and wounded another.

The statement also says a Marine was killed in action in the western Anbar province. That's where Fallujah is located. The Marines don't disclose details of combat deaths.

Identities for the dead are being withheld pending family notification.

This is the deadliest day for the U-S military since a suicide bomber killed 22 people, including 14 U-S soldiers and three American contractors December 21st.
