Detained Kuwaiti soldiers linked to Al Qaeda: report

KUWAIT CITY - A number of Kuwaiti soldiers detained here on charges of planning attacks on “friendly forces” in the emirate have “ideological links” to Al Qaeda, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

“The arrested soldiers include a number of officers ... and they belong ideologically to the Al Qaeda organisation,” said Al-Siyassah, quoting sources.

Maps of US army locations in Kuwait were seized from the suspects, it said.

“The military intelligence service is questioning some soldiers, following information concerning their intention to carry out an attack on friendly forces,” Kuwaiti army spokesman Brigadier Yussef al-Mulla announced late Monday.

1. So exactly what the hell does
"they belong ideologically" mean? Sounds to me like a phrase mean to say "there's no real connection of any sort, but since someone told us they wanted to attack us, we must somehow link them to Al Qaeda instead of admitting that the way we walk all over their country and values might piss them off bit.

2. Or does it mean simply if they do not like us in their country
then they must "belong ideologically" to a terrorist group.

5. "they belong ideologically to the Al Qaeda organisation"
Will soon be applied to dissenters here at home. Watch for Stalin/Bush to start the round-up sometime next year. Many Americans may start dissappearing into the secret prisons for life.
