Mad Magazine illustrator Kelly Freas dies age at 82
<snip> Beginning in the 1950s, he spent seven years as the main cover artist of Mad Magazine, creating stylishly detailed portraits and helping to make famous Alfred E. Newman, the freckled, front-tooth-deprived purveyor of the phrase, "What? Me Worry?"

3. And an album cover for Queen

The title of this piece was "Fix it, Daddy."

He was a very nice man and a hell of a talent.

4. Kelly Freas and Will "The Spirit" Eisner in the same day? Damn...
I remember a few years ago, when the comics world lost John Buscema...five years ago this month, when we lost another Mad Magazine artist, the LEGENDARY Don Martin, and a few years before that, Jack "King" Kirby. All five of these gentlemen are an indelible part of my youth, and they'll be missed.

5. Freas was the best.
I used to drool over his SF covers when I was a boy.
