Anti-Schwarzenegger Campaign Kicks Off
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The state treasurer announced Tuesday the start of a statewide TV ad campaign criticizing Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (news - web sites) for "breaking his promise" to voters not to spend more than the state takes in.

Treasurer Phil Angelides, a Democrat, said Schwarzenegger's budget policies have put the state at risk by relying too much on borrowing and spending cuts to close an $8.1 billion budget gap.

Instead, Angelides proposed a mix of spending cuts with a tax increase on the state's highest earners to balance the books.

"What the governor promised and what the people expect is a balanced budget that protects education and health care," Angelides said at a press conference. "The operative word here is fairness."

Angelides announced the ad campaign as the Republican governor prepared to deliver his second State of the State speech Wednesday evening, with much of the focus on the governor's ideas for solving the state's budget problems this year.

Maria is too skinny for him to grope anything on her so all he can do is rub some of her family legacy onto his Nazi-sperm body.

As you can tell, he disgusts me.

20. Lockyear
Don't know anything about Angelides, but Lockyear is definitely in my good graces. He has filed a couple of lawsuits recently against George W. Bush, the last one being to block handing over our national forests here (I'm in the Sierra Nevadas, right down the road from King's Canyon and Sequoia National Parks) to the timber industry under the so-called "Healthy Forest" bull. He also won against Diebold voting machines here.
I recently finished reading Robt. Kennedy Jr.'s book, "Crimes Against Nature". If you need a good read to get properly pissed off, I highly recommend it. In it, he talked about Governor Arnie coming to him right after he was elected, and saying he wanted to be the most environmentally responsible governor ever. He asked Robert to help him craft his policy to do so. A few months later, Dubya springs this logging industry crap on him with no warning. This is when Arnold is really getting into gear with campaigning for Dubya. He calls the Whitehouse in a panic. Dubya's office would not even return his calls on the matter.

37. Lockyer has pandered to Arnold far too much and his own words
about supporting Arnold will be used against him should he run. As AG, he also filed a USSC case supporting cops in forcing testimony from a critically injured suspect and withholding medical care until the suspect (who happened to be innocent) talked.

42. Lockyer is a good Dem. He ran RFK's East Bay campaign, was a school...
...teacher before entereing the assembly, went to night law school while he was a member of state gov't, and is married to a woman who is a committed civil rights lawyer, and they both are smart, committed Democrats.

Angelides is also a great Democrat -- he's a Harvard grad, son of immigrants who believes in all the right things too.

I think a primary battle between these two will get Dems thinking about all the right issues and that the winner will come out of it with a good chance of beating Arnold.

I know Lockyer has done a few things to make you scratch your head lately, but he's clearly got something up his sleave, if you ask me.

Right now, I like Angelides by a nose, but I have no problem with either of these guys.

Incidentally, Angelides looks like more of a movie star than Arnold, and Lockyer looks like more of a tough guy than Arnold.

45. I know Lockyer personally....he's sold out big time lately in several
regards, whether we talk civil rights or workers rights..if he has something up his sleeve that would be refreshing..but I think he's gotten quite addicted to power..his work as AG has hardly mirrored his work as a state senator. I agree with much of what you've said but think he's sold out a few too many times in recent history.

24. yep...a front man for lil Peetie and his minions...
...brought in by kkk rove and his ilk to make the 'pukes less scary to moronic voters in CA who like its movies.

Also, you gotta contrast the campaign-era fairy tales told by the Gropenator w/its actual conduct:

fairy tale: "I can't be bought"
reality: out-fundraises Gov. Davis; millions from business interests (but denounces unions)

fairy tale: "I stand for the little guy"
reality: packs state boards and "regulatory" agencies w/big bidness lackeys (after kicking out consumer advocates in many cases)

fairy tale: "I will balance the budget by cutting out fraud and waste"
reality: borrowed his way out (w/ half-a-mil from Wall Street to finance the ad campaign to persuade morans to vote for the bond measure), the same thing Davis would have done

I could go on...but you get the picture...don't be fooled. this guy is dangerous precisely because he is able to fool morans into supporting him when doing so is contrary to their self-interest. perfect front-man for the 'pukes (echoes of raygun: another bad actor who can fool people into cutting their own throats)

also: he's a seriously deranged sociopathic pig egomaniac who has a history of sexual abuse/assault against women.

35. The Governator
Anyone listen to his speech the other night? He's definitely falling in with the Bush mold (I can't figure Maria out).
He's talking about redistricting........to me, this sounds like the same crap that DeLay did in Texas. I see where this could eventually screw up our federal representatives. Maybe that was the whole plan--send in good old likeable Ahnold to start turning Calyfornia into a red state. They're after us, folks. I'm willing to bet that now, they will be targeting Barbara Boxer's seat in 4 years, even though after Kerry and dubya, she got more votes than anyone in the country in this last election.
We're also quite disturbed that the Govenator wants to start messing with CALPERS, and other state employees pension funds, claiming they are "out of contol". It's like the Bush manufactured Social Security crisis: CALPERS is one of the only programs in the black in this state. That's my husband's retirement he's trying to rip off. It also sounds like union-busting, saying they are becoming "too powerful", the "special interests", etc. etc. Again, in the Bush mold, anyone who doesn't agree with you must be crushed.

31. If I am not mistaken, this thread is
about CA and its officials and NOT about Bill Clinton. Clinton is no longer in office but Arnold IS.

This thread is about people who are willing to stand up against the Lie-en-ator.

If you insist on comparing the two men, let me remind you that Clinton is not Nazi sperm.

by $4000 a year! Some "education governor". Rather than spread the pain across a broad swath of the population, he decided to balance the budget on the backs of college students. I will NEVER forgive him for this, his liberal social views aside. He is a borrow-and-spend Repube like the rest of them. In this coming budget he wants to cut big into health and human services. Arnold is way overrated by the left in this state. Wake up everyone!!

38. The "Arnold"...
and Maria are on the cover of the new "Vanity Fair". It says on the cover that they are "hot for each other". I'm married and I stopped a long time ago with trying to figure out other peoples' marriages--why they are attracted to each other, etc.

Politically, there is nowhere else in America given his background, ideology etc. that Arnld could have gotten elected except for California. Gray Davis did nothing wrong while in office and I think that the Democratic Party let him down.

Doesn't anyone else think that it was hypocritical of the GOP to trot Arnold out during their convention when he is pro-choice, pro-stem cell (he pushed through a proposition to fund stem-cell research in CA last November) and pro-ERA? Folks, they can't be trotting Arnold out as a potential President (that will be the day) on the GOP ticket!!

PS - Do you think he has had work done on his face--check out some of his last films? Startling!!

43. Arnold's "brilliant" idea to save the state some $
He actually proposed killing animals faster in the state shelters. This was his big idea. Of course setting up a better spade/neuter program and increasing adoption through various exposure was too intellectual for his pea brain.

This was quickly swept under the rug (I sure he got a lot of hate mail). To make up for it (don't want to lose your huge humanitarian sector) he signed the bill to ban production and sale of foie gras. I'm thrilled about the ban, but it was simply to make people forget his utterly nauseating proposal to save $.

Sorry I don't have an article saved from this.

Actually, I heard that he backed off this proposal of putting down cats/dogs after, I think it was 24 hours instead of the current week, whenever his teenage daughter turned on him for it.
However, they went ahead with putting down animals like turtles (?!), hamsters, bunnies, etc. immediately. You know--because they eat so much!

It's funny though. The reTHUGs complain about Hollywood but as soon as they can find a washed up actor to front for them, it's OK to be from Hollywood. Even if you just play a person from Hollywood on television.( like Arnoold) You know what. I don't have any intention of learning how to spell this idiot's last name.
