a million people outside iraq could vote in elections ...
Some 230,000 could vote from US in Iraq election
Last updated: 05-01-05, 16:33

Up to 230,000 people of Iraqi origin could vote at polling stations set up across the United States in Iraq's national elections at the end of the month, an official behind the effort said today.

Mr Peter Erben of the Geneva-based International Organisation for Migration (IOM) told a news conference another 150,000 may vote in Britain, the main US ally in the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and 250,000 in Syria.

In all, up to a million people outside Iraq may be eligible to take part in the poll to elect a transitional national assembly.

"We are planning polling centres in 14 countries," said Mr Erben who heads the Out of Country Voting Programme (OCV) for the IOM, set up outside the United Nations system in 1951 to aid people fleeing communism in Eastern Europe.

3. That's one way to make sure the US puppet gets in. Why not
have US polling places in Germany, Iraq, Japan for the soldiers and other citizens overseas? And how are they registering? Are they going to register at the door? Who's checking the citizenship? Who's checking anything?

5. Saw a brief report on CNN Headline this morning
They were talking about some woman who was born in 1966 in the US and has never been to Iraq but she's allowed to vote in that election. Seems to me anyone allowed to vote in that one should be disallowed from voting in US elections. Either that or as Jerry Rubin once said, "Every one in the world should vote in American elections since America controls the world."

6. That action is FREE but it ain't exactly FAIR ... many have not lived
in Iraq going on decades now. Imagine - a whole group of wealthy Iraqi's like Chalabi drooling all over themselves to get back to Iraq because it's ripe for exploitation by a NEW ruling class.

7. The problem with this is...
that while they may be able to vote, however they must report twice within a week. Once to register, and then cast their ballot. How many of these folks are going to be able to take at least two day off to travel in some cases thousands of miles to the State Department polling location nearest them?
