Joke went too far for Idaho lawmaker

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -- A one-time candidate for the state House of Representatives has resigned his local Republican party position, but won't face charges for mailing a primary opponent a fake gift certificate for a visit to Dr. Jack Kevorkian.

Mike Adams resigned Tuesday as a precinct committeeman in Bonneville County and will no longer be the county's voting representative on the state GOP central committee.

"It's the right thing to do," said Bonneville County Republican Party Chairman Damond Watkins. "The party is bigger than one person."

Watkins' brother, Bonneville County prosecuting attorney Dane Watkins Jr., said Adams won't face misdemeanor charges of making a threat against a state official, because his fake certificate sent to state Rep. Ann Rydalch didn't make a specific threat.

2. Consider the party [Republican], consider the state [Idaho]...
...and consider the person , this was no joke. They should throw the book at this white supremacist bastard!

4. This is how GOP candidates joke with each other?
Sounds like he sent it anonymously since it says he "admitted" sending it. That is creepy.

6. a fake certificate to Gitmo would be a nice gift for him
but then that's not really that funny when we think about the fact that many of them dang Idaho republeekans would love to send all of us "opponents" there.
...and they may well actually do it one day, especially if there's ever a "terra" event again on U.S. soil-->military law, and all opposition will be silenced-

7. I remember in the 50's when the expression "Drop Dead" was
was used by almost everyone. 'Tis a amazing how moral we've become in the last 55 years.
